Connect to Linux instance using user name-password certification
Updated at:2025-10-20
Prerequisites
- Verify that your Baidu Cloud Compute instance is already bound to a public IP address.
- When signing in to a Linux instance via SSH, ensure that your Baidu Cloud Compute has port 22 open (port 22 is open by default when creating a Linux instance).
Operation steps
- Sign in to BCC Console and enter the Instance List page. View the summary information of Baidu Cloud Compute to find its public IP.

- When the Baidu Cloud Compute is in the Running status, start the client for connection.
For Linux systems, you can log in through the SSH protocol using SSH clients such as Putty, SecureCRT, or Xshell.

- Enter the user name and password for certification. For security reasons, instance password will no longer be sent via SMS after creation of BCC instance. If you forget the password for the instance you want to operate, you can [Reset Password](BCC/Operation guide/Instance/Reset password.md).
- Once the certification process is successful, access your Baidu Cloud Compute instance.
