Overview

Baidu AI Cloud offers a Tag Management feature, which supports cross-service and cross-region resource tagging based on various criteria (such as purpose, owner, or project), enabling efficient categorization and resource management.

Application scenarios

Scenario I

As the number and variety of cloud resources increase, the Tag Management Service lets users group and manage resources by different dimensions, facilitating swift resource retrieval and operations.

Users can apply various tags to different applications, service modules, or environments. For instance, resources in the production and test environments of an OA system can be tagged accordingly, allowing quick filtering of resources under specific tags across diverse resource types for operations. Similarly, instances tagged as part of the test environment can be filtered from the BCC for batch operations.

Scenario II

For departmental or project management, resources can be categorized by department, team, or project, enabling better cost allocation and precise permission controls.

For example, a gaming company managing several large-scale projects can use tags to classify and manage resources by project. Viewing resource bills under specific tags allows cost control and reporting, while permissions can be assigned to projects based on tags.

Instructions for use

Before using tags, you need to know:

• Tag: Each tag includes a key and a value. The combination of the key and value must be unique.
• Single and batch: Supports tagging individual resources or applying tags to multiple cloud resources in batch.
• Sorting and searching: Supports locating and sorting resources using tags (keys and values).
• Cross-product tagging enables different products to share the same tags. For instance, when tagging BCC, the related CDS and EIP can be tagged consistently.

Tag specifications

Each user is allowed to create up to 200 tags.
