CCE Kubernetes Version Update Notes
Updated at:2025-10-27
Baidu AI Cloud Container Engine (CCE) offers highly scalable and high-performance enterprise-grade Kubernetes clusters. As the Kubernetes community consistently rolls out new versions, CCE simultaneously releases corresponding Kubernetes versions while strictly complying with community conformance certification. This document explains the version support mechanism of CCE.
Version support
Cluster creation
CCE supports creating clusters with the latest three major versions that have been released. For example, if Kubernetes 1.24 is released, CCE will support cluster creation for versions 1.24, 1.22, and 1.20, while version 1.18 will no longer be available for cluster creation.
Released Kubernetes versions on CCE:
- Version 1.30
- Version 1.28
- Version 1.26
- Version 1.24
- Version 1.22
- Version 1.20
- Version 1.18
- Version 1.16
- Version 1.13
- Version 1.11
Version release cycle
- Starting from Kubernetes 1.16, CCE only releases Kubernetes versions with even minor version numbers, such as 1.24, 1.26, and 1.28.
- When the Kubernetes community releases a new even minor version, CCE performs risk assessments and conformance testing for that version. Once these are completed, CCE enables the creation and upgrade functionalities for the new version.
- When the Kubernetes community releases a new patch version for an even minor version, CCE evaluates whether to release the upgrade based on the severity of the issues resolved by the patch. For patch versions addressing critical issues (e.g., high-risk security vulnerabilities), CCE carries out evaluation and verification before enabling the creation and upgrade functionalities for the new version.
