Performance-related questions
How much data can users store on BOS?
There are no limitations on the total amount or number of objects that users can store on BOS. The maximum size for uploading a single object is 48.8 TB (50,000 GB).
What types of data can users store?
Users can store any type or format of data on BOS.
How long does it take for BOS logs to generate?
In most cases, access requests will take 2 to 3 hours to appear as logs in the target bucket. However, factors like network conditions may cause delays.
Is there a speed limit for BOS uploading and downloading?
BOS sets a bandwidth threshold of 10Gbit/s for a single bucket, with no limit on concurrency. It is not targeted at the number of people but only has a limit on the bandwidth threshold. When a user’s upload or download behavior reaches the bandwidth threshold, the system will give an alarm with the error RequestRateLimitExceeded. This restriction is currently effective for all regions of BOS. If your upload speed is slow, it is generally caused by your local upload bandwidth. It is recommended that you check your local upload bandwidth. For details, please refer to: [Usage Restrictions](BOS/Product Description/Usage restrictions.md).
If you have special business needs and want to increase the bandwidth threshold in a short time, please submit a ticket.
What is the collection interval for bucket monitor data like write throughput and read throughput?
The data collection interval for bucket monitoring metrics, such as write throughput and read throughput, is set to 5 minutes.
