Resource Package Deduction Rules
General rules for resource package deduction
(1) Can only deduct fees for corresponding charge items:
- If you purchase a capacity package: The capacity package you purchased can only deduct capacity fees for the corresponding storage class, and cannot deduct fees for other charge items, such as internet downlink traffic fees, read/write request count fees, data restoration fees and data processing fees. If you purchase a "Standard Storage Capacity Package", this resource package can only deduct standard storage capacity fees, not standard storage read/write request count fees; if you purchase an "Infrequent Access Storage Capacity Package", this resource package can only deduct infrequent access storage capacity fees, not infrequent access storage read/write request count fees or infrequent access storage data restoration fees.
- If you purchase a traffic package: The traffic package you purchased can only deduct bill amounts generated by the corresponding traffic type. BOS traffic fees are not differentiated by storage class. If you purchase an "internet downlink traffic package", it can only deduct internet downlink traffic fees, not other traffic fees such as CDN back-to-origin traffic fees and cross-region traffic fees.

If you purchase an image processing package: The image processing package you purchased can only deduct bill amounts generated by the corresponding image processing functions. Image processing types include basic image processing functions (cropping, rotating, scaling, watermarking, etc.), advanced image compression functions, and intelligent image processing functions. Each function corresponds to its own image processing package. If you purchase an "Intelligent Image Processing Package", it can only deduct usage fees generated by intelligent image processing, not other image processing fees such as basic image processing functions or advanced image compression functions.
Note: All BOS charge items use the postpaid type by default. If you only purchase a storage capacity package, please ensure that your account balance is sufficient to deduct fees for other charge items. For other charge items, please refer to Introduction to BOS Charge Items;
(2) Resource packages have regional attributes: The capacity packages, traffic packages and image processing packages you purchase have regional attributes. You need to purchase resource packages in the same region as the resources to be deducted. If the purchased resource package and the resource to be deducted are in different regions, deduction cannot be performed. If you create a bucket and store data in the North China - Beijing region, and want to purchase a capacity package for prepaid deduction, you need to purchase a capacity package in the North China - Beijing region; otherwise, the capacity bill in the Beijing region cannot be deducted;
(3) Refund rules: You can get a full refund for a purchased resource package within 7 days if it is unused (i.e., the set effective time is in the future), but you need to submit a ticket to apply for a refund; if the resource package is purchased within 7 days but has been used (i.e., the resource package has taken effect), the resource package does not support refunds; if the purchase time exceeds 7 days, the resource package does not support refunds;
(4) Expiration reminder: Expired resource packages become invalid immediately. BOS will send you reminder messages 7 days, 3 days, 1 day before expiration and at the time of expiration. Please pay attention to receiving notifications via SMS, email and messages;
(5) Renewal rules: Unexpired resource packages support renewal. When renewing, you can modify the size and duration of the resource package, but you cannot change the original region of use or specify the effective time of the renewal package. After successful renewal, the resource package can continue to be used after the original effective date expires. Expired or exhausted resource packages do not support renewal; please purchase new resource packages if needed.
Special note:
- The resource package is only for use by this account;
- You can purchase multiple resource packages at the same time, and multiple resource packages can be in effect during the same period;
- Resource packages only support deduction for corresponding charge items in the region specified at the time of purchase;
- If the selected effective time is earlier than the order time, the order time will take precedence as the start time.
Details of capacity package deduction
1. What is a capacity package?
A capacity package is a resource bundle used to offset storage capacity fees, including options such as "Standard Storage Capacity Package," "Infrequent Access Storage Capacity Package," "Cold Storage Capacity Package," and "Archive Storage Capacity Package.\
2. Capacity package deduction rules
During the resource package's validity, storage fees for the relevant class will first be deducted using the package. Any excess will be charged on a pay-as-you-go basis. To avoid service interruptions due to insufficient account funds, please monitor changes in storage capacity promptly.
- Take the standard storage package as an example, the deduction rules are as follows:
- Case 1: The user currently has 2 × 100 GB standard storage packages in effect, and the current "Standard Storage - Space Usage" is 180 GB. Since 180 GB < 200 GB, the usage is within the storage package specification, so this charge item can be deducted using the pre-purchased storage package;
- Case 2: The user currently has 2 × 100 GB standard storage packages in effect, and the current "Standard Storage - Space Usage" is 250 GB. Since 250 GB > 200 GB, the fee for 200 GB is deducted by the resource package, and the excess 50 GB is charged on a pay-as-you-go basis. If your account balance is insufficient to deduct the capacity fee for 50 GB at this time, your account will be in debts. If you do not recharge for more than 15 days, your data will be released.
3. Effective time of capacity packages
When "Take effect immediately after payment" is selected, if the capacity package is purchased during a specific hour, it will take effect immediately, and the deduction will be calculated proportionally in the next hourly bill, rather than in full. When "Specify effective time" is selected, you can set the activation time to any moment from now up to 5 years in the future, accurate to the minute.
Details of Internet downlink traffic package deduction
1. Traffic package deduction rules
BOS offers internet downlink traffic resource packages. Packages are available with various durations, such as 1-month and 6-month terms. If purchasing a multi-month package (for durations other than 1 month), please note the following:
- Multi-month traffic packages mean that a certain amount of traffic is available each full month. After the monthly credit quota is used up, the usage is automatically reset to zero, and the same credit quota is available in the next full month, and so on. When your monthly traffic credit quota is exhausted, the traffic package will not become invalid, but traffic exceeding the monthly credit quota will no longer be deducted from the package and will generate a postpaid bill for Internet downlink traffic; from the next month (a full month, not a calendar month), the generated Internet downlink traffic will continue to be deducted from the package.
If you purchase a 100 GB 3-month package in the North China - Beijing region on October 8, 2020, and the traffic package takes effect immediately after purchase:
- October 8, 2020 - November 7, 2020: 100 GB internet downlink traffic credit quota is available, and the part exceeding 100 GB in this month will generate a postpaid bill; November 8, 2020 - December 7, 2020: 100 GB internet downlink traffic credit quota is available, and the part exceeding 100 GB in this month will generate a postpaid; December 8, 2020 - January 7, 2021: 100 GB internet downlink traffic credit quota is available, and the part exceeding 100 GB in this month will generate a postpaid bill;
- The 100 GB internet downlink traffic credit does not apply as a total allocation spanning from October 8, 2020, to January 7, 2021.
2. Effective time of traffic packages
When "Take effect immediately after payment" is selected and the traffic package is purchased within a specific hour to be activated immediately, the deduction for the traffic package in the next hourly bill will be proportional to the remaining time rather than a full deduction. When "Specify effective time" is selected, you can set the time to any point from the current moment up to 5 years in the future, accurate to the minute.
Details of image processing package deduction
1. What is an image processing package?
An image processing package is a resource bundle that covers image processing fees, including the "Basic Image Processing Package," "Advanced Image Compression Package," and "Intelligent Image Processing Package."
2. Deduction rules for basic image processing packages
The basic image processing packages are available for durations of 1 month, 6 months, or 12 months, with monthly specifications of 10 TB, 20 TB, or 50 TB. These packages are issued for n consecutive months starting from the effective date and reset to zero at the end of each calendar month. Additionally, BOS offers a free monthly usage allowance of 10 TB, which activates when the purchased basic image processing package is exhausted.
For instance: If you buy a 20 TB 6-month package in the North China - Beijing region on October 25, 2020, and it takes effect immediately after purchase, you will have a 20 TB usage quota for basic image processing from October 25, 2020, to October 31, 2020. If usage exceeds 20 TB during this period, the free 10 TB quota will be activated, and any excess beyond that will generate a postpaid bill. From November 2020 to March 2021, you will receive a 20 TB monthly quota for basic image processing. Any monthly usage exceeding 20 TB will first draw from the free 10 TB quota before generating a postpaid bill for additional usage.
3. Deduction rules for advanced image compression packages and intelligent image processing packages
Advanced image compression packages and intelligent image processing packages are sold in units of tens of thousands of virtual times and are valid for one year from their activation date. Once expired, unused portions cannot be deducted. Advanced image compression packages can be purchased in increments ranging from 100,000 to 50 million times per month across 9 tiers, while intelligent image processing packages offer options of 100,000, 200,000, and 500,000 times per month. Virtual times are deducted from the resource package after each image processing action, with the deduction rate determined by the corresponding charge item.
4. Description of deduction factors
The deduction factor is calculated as follows: deduction factor = unit price of the original charge item ÷ unit price of the virtual resource package.
For example, using the advanced image compression package, performing HEIC advanced image compression for an image with dimensions of 800 × 600 or higher results in 4 times being deducted from the advanced image compression package.

Certain intelligent image processing packages apply tiered pricing. Their usage quotas reset to zero at the end of each month and are re-accumulated in the following month.
For instance, in the case of intelligent defogging processing, if 2,000,000 image processes are conducted in a month, 12,000,000 deductions will be made from the intelligent image processing package. If 4,000,000 processes are conducted in a month, the deduction totals 6 × 3,000,000 + 3 × 1,000,000 = 21,000,000 times.

5. Effective time of image processing packages
When "Take effect immediately after payment" is selected and an image processing package is purchased within a specific hour, it will automatically activate at the next hour after the order is placed. If "Specify effective time" is chosen for the basic image processing package, the activation time can only be set to 00:00 on the first day of a future month, starting with the next month and extending up to 5 years. For advanced image compression packages and intelligent image processing packages, the activation time can be set from the next hour onward, precise to the hour, up to 5 years in the future. Intelligent image processing packages additionally allow activation on any day up to 5 years in the future, precise to 00:00 of that day.
