Overview

To prevent the data stored by users on BOS from being hotlinked by others, BOS provides a hotlink prevention mechanism that uses the Referer field in the HTTP header. Users can configure an allowlist for the Referer field in the BOS console. Once the allowlist is set, only requests with a Referer field that matches the allowlist will be permitted to access the data stored in the bucket; requests not in the allowlist will be blocked. However, if the Referer field is empty or absent, access is allowed by default and is not restricted by the allowlist.

Operation types

Currently, the function of setting a referer allow list can only be operated through the console. For specific operations and certain restrictions, please refer to Setting Up a Referer Allow List.
