Product Introduction
The MoonBox, provided by BOS, is a physical shipment solution designed for cloud migration, enabling the transfer of data from on-premises IDC to the cloud.
MoonBox is ideal for transferring and migrating hundreds of terabytes of data to the cloud. By utilizing dedicated storage devices, it facilitates large-scale data transfers between Baidu AI Cloud and its customers, addressing challenges like high network costs, prolonged transfer times, and security concerns. It offers the advantages of simplicity, speed, security, and cost efficiency.
MoonBox provides mobile storage devices from BOS with features such as large capacity, user-friendly interface, military-grade protection, and encryption. Each MoonBox device has a calibrated capacity of 96 TB and an actual usable capacity of approximately 83 TB, making it ideal for scenarios requiring local IDC data migration to the cloud at scales reaching hundreds of terabytes.
Application scenarios
- Your network environment is poor (low bandwidth, unstable connection), and bandwidth costs are very high;
- Hope to complete the data migration to the cloud as soon as possible, but the cost of dedicated line is too high.
- For scenarios where you lack your own hard drives or removable data storage/transmission devices.

- High transmission efficiency: Supports 10GbE optical ports with a maximum data throughput of 10MB/s. A single device can migrate tens of terabytes of data to the cloud within just a few days.
- Security and confidentiality: AES256 encryption is used in the whole process of data transmission. Even if the device is lost or stolen, the data cannot be decrypted and read;
- Stable and reliable: Built with military-grade anti-shock and anti-drop protection, ensuring the internal disks remain intact even after falls from significant heights. It also features RAID5 array configurations to further enhance data reliability.
- Simple and easy to use: Provide a graphical interface, allowing non-IT personnel to operate it directly, as simple as copying files to a USB drive;
