          Operation Process of Offline Migration Box

          Overview of Overall Operating Process

          Detailed Operating Process

          Application for Invitation of Open Beta Test

          • At present, the Offline Migration Box is in the open beta test stage. Click Apply for Open Beta Test or contact your account manager.
          • After the simple filtration, we contact you by email or telephone to get your IDC address for delivering the Offline Migration Box devices to your data center.
          • The cost of returning the devices shall be borne by you.

          **2. Environment**

          • Connect the Offline Migration Box device with your IDC network environment. Each Offline Migration Box device is provided with two 1 GbE electrical interfaces and two 10 GbE optical interfaces. The network cable required for the electrical interface is of the standard network cable socket for ordinary computers. The network cable required for the optical interface is of the SFP+AOC type universal national standard optical cable interface.
          • The Offline Migration Box is provided with a built-in Ubuntu operating system and can be connected to any display. Open the IP address assigned for the Offline Migration box in the data center on the browser, or enter 127.0.0.1:8080 directly to open the Offline Migration box login page.
          • You can get the login password of the Offline Migration Betaox by consulting with the Baidu AI Cloud colleagues.

          3. Create Tasks

          After you log in to the Offline Migration Box, click "Create Upload Task" in the upper left corner to create and describe the data upload task on the expanded new page.

          • Task Name: Name this migration task for the subsequent management.
          • Source Address Type: means the storage management mode of the data cloudification in the local IDC. If it is the block device that can be directly connected through the network cable or the device with USB plug that can be directly connected to the Offline Migration Box for copy, select "Local USB Device". At this moment, you need to enter the absolute local path of the data to upload. If the data to upload is stored in the local file system, you need to select the protocol or operating system of the local file system and enter the mount point IP and the absolute path of the data to upload in the file system. At present, the Offline Migration Box supports the migration of the local Linux file system. However, it does not support the migration of the Windows file system temporarily.
          • Destination Address: means the expected storage address of the data after cloudification. At present, the Offline Migration Box supports the data migration to BOS. Therefore, users can enter the storage path of BOS products in the “Destination Address”. If you enter "Bucket/A/B/C", the data migrated from Offline Migration Box is subsequently uploaded in the corresponding BOS path.
          • Custom Encryption: To prevent the unexpected situation during device transmission (such as device theft), we provide the custom encryption capability. You need to define a custom key for the current task. The data uploaded by this task is encrypted with the key by default. The key should consist of letters and numbers and have a length of 6-64 characters.

          4. Manage Tasks

          The tasks created by the user are displayed in the task list of the Offline Migration Box.

          You can start/stop the task in the list or print the log based on the transmission of this task. If the user thinks that the error occurs for this task created and wants to clear the data that has been copied to the Offline Migration Box in this task, click the "Clear Data" button. The transmitted tasks can be viewed in the "Completed Tasks" list, and the data can also be cleared for the copy task you want to withdraw.

          5. Return devices

          After confirming the successful copy of the local data to the Offline Migration Box, you can contact the Baidu AI Cloud colleagues by telephone or email and return the device to the Baidu AI Cloud data center through logistics. The next step is to copy the data cloudification to BOS by the Baidu AI Cloud colleagues. Upon completion of the last data cloudification step, Baidu AI Cloud informs you in time.
