Overview

Baidu Object Storage (BOS) provides stable, safe and efficient and highly extended storage services, supports any types of data storage, such as text, multi-media and binary, with a single file size of 5TB at maximum.

Data is stored in multiple regions and across clusters to achieve unified utilization of resources, reduce the difficulty of use and improve work efficiency. The "storage + computation framework" enables your data to add a "power" engine, so that the data can be integrated organically from 4 links, including transmission, storage, processing and release.

Application Scenarios

BOS is suitable for various scenarios such as data distribution, data backup, big data analysis, audio and video file processing, etc. See Application Scenarios for details.

Hierarchical Storage

The modes of use and access frequency of different types of data are different, and the data have aging curve at the same time. With the gradual aging of data, their access frequency decreases gradually, and they enter the archival state. The hierarchical storage is a methodology, which is to store different types of data into different storage classes to reduce total storage costs while meeting service requirements.

BOS provides four types of storage, including standard storage, infrequent storage, cold storage and archival storage according to different storage scenarios. You can specify the storage class of Object when uploading the file and the storage class of Object specified during the upload shall prevail. In addition, you can also set the default storage class of Bucket, and if you do not specify the storage class when uploading the file, the file inherits the default storage class of Bucket . Billing Item

The billing items of BOS include storage costs, traffic costs, request costs, and data processing costs. Each item will have a different billing price based on your usage. For details, please see Overview of Billing Items.
