          Object Storage

          Set Trash Bin

          Overview

          To improve BOS data security, users can configure the trash bin feature to ensure that the deleted data is kept in the trash bin for possible subsequent recovery,

          Note

          • The files in the trash bin are still billed until users delete them permanently. For the files in the trash bin, users are recommended to configure the lifetime to delete the expired files.

          Set Trash Bin

          1. Log in to BOS Console.
          2. In the left Bucket list, select the Bucket for which you need to set the permission, and then click the Bucket name to enter the Bucket management directory.
          3. In the top navigation bar, select the Manage Configuration tab.
          4. In the Manage Configuration page, select Advanced Configuration, and click Modify Configuration in the Trash Bin area to configure the trash bin of the Bucket.
          1. In the Configure Trash Bin action bar, enable the trash bin.
            After enabling the trash bin feature, the files deleted from the Bucket will be kept at the trash bin storage path. The storage path defaults to Bucket/.trash/. Thus, users can change this storage path, but they need to follow the path name rules. Only the Bucket owner and users having the Full Control permission can configure the trash bin.

          Description: The archiving files, whether they are recovered or not, cannot be put into the trash bin after being deleted.

          1. After a file in Bucket is deleted, this file will not appear in the File List on the console but appears in the Trash Bin on the console.
          1. For the junk files in the trash bin, you can manage them as required.

            • When the user performs the Recovery of the file, this file appears at the file path before the deletion and disappears in the trash bin;
            • When the user performs the Permanent Deletion of the file, this file will be deleted permanently.
