Application Scenarios

The custom image is a Baidu Cloud Compute system disk-based snapshot at a certain moment. In fact, it is a private image which is saved from the running Baidu Cloud Compute system disk, and can be viewed only by the user itself.

You can consider to create a custom image in the following scenarios. For example, redeploying a complicated initialization system, deploying a server with the same configuration for multiple times, or performing rapid deployment for large tests or software developed by software developers.

Operation Steps:

1. Select "Instance" in the left navigation bar to enter the "Instance List" page.

2. Click "Create a Custom Image" in "More" of the "Operation" list to pop up the "Create a Custom Image" window.

Note: The length of custom image name is 1-64 characters, which can only contain numbers, letters and strike "-" and must begin with the letter.

3. Enter the new image name to create an image, which takes about 1-10 minutes.
4. Select "Image" in the left navigation bar.
5. View whether the image is in the Creating or Completed status in the "Custom Image" tab.

Subsequent Operation

After the custom image has been created, you can “Create an Instance” on the custom image tab. When you create an instance through the custom image, the system regards the instance image as this custom image by default. Or you can select a public image or other service integrated-images according to your needs.
