Steps to Create an Instance through Custom Image

After the successful import of image, enter your BCC console, and click the image on the left, and then you can see the imported custom image in the image list. Create an instance through this image.

After the successful creation of instance, it is recommended that you further customize the instance if your image system is of the prepared image supported by the Baidu AI Cloud platform.

Custom Operation of Linux System

Software Source Settings of Linux System (Recommended)

If your BCC operating system is of a standard system supported by Baidu AI Cloud, it is recommended that you set the software source as the Baidu source.

Download Software Source Settings to your BCC, and then run the command bash setrepo.sh from the command line to set the software source.

NTP Settings of Linux System (Recommended)

If your Linux BCC enables the NTP service, it is recommended that you add the Baidu NTP server address to your BCC configuration.

1. Edit the file /etc/ntp.conf, and then add a line at the end of the file as follows:

server ntpsr.baidubce.com

2. Edit the file /etc/ntp/step-tickers (if any), and then change the file content as follows:

ntpsr.baidubce.com

Custom Operation of Windows System

Change Windows Update BCC Location

The following takes the Windows Server 2008 as an example:

1. Run the command gpedit.msc on the virtual machine to open【Local Group Policy Editor】.
2. Locate "Local Computer Policy" -- "Computer Configuration" -- "Management Template" -- "Windows Components" -- "Windows Update".

Open "Specify Intranet Microsoft Update Service Location" on the right.

1. Select "Enabled" for【Specify Intranet Microsoft Update Service Location】.
2. Enter http://windowsupdate.baidubce.com:8530 in the "Set Intranet Update Service for Update Testing" and the "Set Intranet Statistics Server":http://windowsupdate.baidubce.com:8530, and then click "OK".

3. After the successful setting, you can use the Baidu AI Cloud update server to update the Windows patch.

Modifying and activation service

If the Windows server created through the custom image is not activated on the Baidu AI Cloud platform, you need to modify the activation server configuration of the virtual machine to activate the operating system.

Locate the command prompt, and then run the following commands from the command prompt:

1.slmgr /ckms # Clear KMS server settings

2.slmgr /rearm # Reset the state of the server, restart the system after this command is executed.

3.slmgr /skms 100.64.253.23 # Set the IP address of KMS server, 100.64.253.23 is the address of the Beijing cluster, other clusters please issue a work order to obtain.

4.slmgr /ato # This Activation command will indicate that the operating system has been successfully activated after it has been executed successfully

Install Baidu bcm-agent in Windows System (Recommended)

1. Download bcm_agent to your BCC.

Log in to BCC in the Running status, and then enter http://repo.bcm.baidubce.com/windows/ in the browser to enter the page:

Install Baidu HostEye in Windows System (Recommended)

1. Download HostEye to your BCC.
2. Double click the installation file for the default installation.
