          Configure the ipv6 Address

To use IPv6, you can select IPv6 termination or IPv6 dual stack.

          IPv6 Termination

You do not need to modify the existing business architecture deployment, but to enable the IPv6 termination feature on EIP to obtain an IPv6 address, so that the business can provide the IPv6 access service externally. The traffic generated when the IPv6 network clients access the address is converted into the IPv4 traffic, which realizes the smooth interface between user business and IPv6 network.

At present, the IPv6 termination is only provided to the EIP instances for trial in the North China - Beijing region and the North China - Baoding region.

You can submit an Open Beta Test Application application to activate the IPv6 termination application whitelist. You can use the IPv6 termination features after approval. See Pv6 Termination Features Documentation for the usage. If the application is not approved within 2 working days, you can submit a ticket for consultation.

          IPv6 Dual Stack

The IPv6 dual stack technology aims to enable the CVM server to support both IPv6 and IPv4 protocols, so that the CVM server can communicate with other CVM servers that support the IPv4 or IPv6 protocols only.

At present, the IPv6 dual stack is only provided to the EIP instances for trial in the North China - Baoding region.

You can submit an Open Beta Test Application to activate the IPv6 dual stack application whitelist. If the application is not approved within 2 working days, you can submit a ticket for consultation.

After approval, you need to configure the IPv6 VPC firstly, and then judge whether the further operation is required based on the operating system. The specific rules are as follows:

          1. The centos7 series support IPv6 automatically, including centos7.1, 7.2, 7.3, 7.4, 7.5 and 7.6. Other centos versions do not support IPv6 temporarily.
          2. The opensuse image supports IPv6 automatically.
          3. Other public image series (debian/ubuntu/windows) need to execute the scripts to support IPv6. The specific script configuration method is as follows:

          Windows Image Configuration IPv6

          1. Download the Accessories Tool, and copy it to your BCC.
          2. Decompress the compression package, and run the command Set_ipv6.bat. The program executes automatically. When it displays "Hit any key to continue", press any key to end as shown in the figure below:
          3. Enter the command ipconfig /all in the command line, and then you can see the IPv6 address. This IPv6 address is correct only when it is consistent with that displayed on the console.
          4. If above steps are normal, this virtual machine can automatically obtain IPv6 address assigned by DHCP and ping the DNS of IPv6 address successfully.

          debian/ubuntu Image Configuration IPv6

          1. Download the Accessories Tool, and copy it to your BCC.
          2. Add the executable privilege for this bcc-ipv6 script file.

            • chmod +x bcc-ipv6-debian
          3. Run the command bcc-ipv6-debian on the terminal.

            • ./bcc-ipv6-debian --add Configure IPv6 for BCC.
            • ./bcc-ipv6-debain --del Delete the configured IPv6.
