Image Overview
What is an image
The BCC image provides the information required to create and start BCC and BBC instances. When creating an instance, you must select an image and can create instances in batch.

Life Cycle of Custom Image
Create a user-defined image
After using the existing image to create an instance, you can make personalized configuration of the instance (such as installing software and deploying project), and create a custom image for the updated instance. The instances created by the custom image include the custom items configured in the image.
You can also use the following method for creation:
- Create a custom image by the existing system disk snapshot. For the specific steps, please refer to Create Custom Image.
- Import custom images locally. For the specific steps, please refer to Import Custom Image.
Share and copy custom images
The images belong to regional resources. For example, after creating a custom mirror in Beijing region, you can use this image to create instances in Beijing region.
- When you share this mirror to other Baidu AI Cloud accounts, this account can only use this image in Beijing region. If you want to share this image in other regions, you can first copy the image to the target region, and then copy it to the target Baidu AI Cloud account. For more details, please refer to Share Custom Image.
- When you want to use this image in other regions, you can first copy the image to the target region. The copied image independently exists and has a unique image ID. For more details, please refer to Image Cross-region Copy.
Change an image
After an instance is created, if you wanton to change the operating system of an instance, you can realize it by changing the system disk.
Delete the custom image
When you no longer need a custom image, you can delete it. After you delete the custom image, you can't use the image to create an instance. please refer to Delete Custom Image.
