Overview
The RDS is classified into four types as per usage scenarios:
- Small and micro type: Be applicable to development test and small-scale service scenario-preferential price, and high-cost performance.
- Standard: Be applicable to the most scenarios-balanced configuration of packages.
- Memory enhanced type: Be applicable to massive data read/write scenarios-get higher number of concurrent connections and QPS at a relatively low price.
- CUP enhanced type: Be applicable to high concurrent read/write and high logic operation scenarios, compatible with old package proportioning.
Applicable scenarios
The RDS is applicable to the following scenarios:

Instance quota
Master instance
- Up to 10 RDS master instances can be created for each account.
- If you need to adjust the quota, please submit the Ticket and contact Baidu engineers.
Read-only instance
- Up to 5 read-only instances may be created for each RDS for MySQL master instance.
- The read-only instance is not supported by the RDS for SQL Server and RDS for PostgreSQL for now.
- If you need to adjust the quota, please submit the ticket and contact Baidu engineers.
Note: If you are using sub-account and desire to raise the quota of sub-account RDS master instance or RDS read-only instance, you need to fill in sub-account information in the ticket.
Proxy instance
- Up to one proxy instance may be created for each RDS for MySQL master instance.
- The proxy instance is not supported by RDS for SQL Server and RDS for PostgreSQL for now.
