Overview

You can change the billing method of an instance according to your business needs. This document describes the change in the billing mode of an instance from postpaid to prepaid.

Considerations

• The read-only instances and proxy instances do not support this feature.
• If the instance’s running status is Expired, or Rebooting or Migrating, you cannot change the billing mode of this instance from postpaid to prepaid.

From Postpaid to Prepaid

There are two methods for changing the billing mode from postpaid to prepaid.

Method I: Change the billing mode on instance list page

1. Log in to RDS Management Console
2. In the upper left corner of the console page, select the Region where the instance resides to enter the "Baidu AI Cloud Database RDS Instance List" page.
3. Find the target instance, select the checkbox before the Instance Name, or select Multiple instances for the batch billing change.

4. Click Change Instance/Cancellation button to enter the billing change page.

   

5. Select the Prepaid Duration and purchase the instance by month or year. The minimum prepaid duration is one month.
6. Confirm the order, click Next, and make a payment according to hints.

7. After the change from postpaid to prepaid is successful, you can view and manage the payment method on the "Cloud Database RDS Instance List" page.

   In the upper right corner of the Instance List, after clicking to refresh the List, you can view that the displayed instance status is Running after the change from postpaid to prepaid is complete. The “Payment Method” shown is Prepaid.

Method II: Change the billing mode on the instance details page

1. Log in to RDS Management Console
2. In the upper left corner of the console page, select the Region where the instance resides to enter the "Baidu AI Cloud Database RDS Instance List" page.
3. Find the target instance and click to enter the Instance Details page.
4. In the Payment Information, click the Billing Mode Change button to enter the billing change page and change the instance billing mode.
5. Select the Prepaid Duration. You can purchase the instance by month or year. The minimum prepaid duration is one month.
6. Confirm the order, click Next, and pay the bill according to the prompts.

7. After the change from postpaid to prepaid is successful, you can view and manage the payment method on the "Cloud Database RDS Instance List" page.

   In the upper right corner of the Instance List, after clicking to refresh the List, you can view that the displayed instance status is Running after the change from postpaid to prepaid is complete. The “Payment Method” displayed is Prepaid.
