Use limits

The RDS for SQL Server only provides the licensed instance, i.e., the instance has Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Edition soft license as soon as it is created without providing user's own license. Also, to ensure the stability and security of the instance, the RDS for SQL Server has some usage restrictions as follows:

• RDS for SQL Server's feature limits:
• The number of databases per instance is up to 100.
• The number of database accounts is up to 49.
• No custom authorization is available.
• Account and database are managed only via the RDS for SQL Server console.
• You cannot enable such features as distributed transactions, Windows domain user account login, mail feature, BI analysis feature, report form feature, database-level DDL trigger (containing DDL statements like modifying form structure, creating form, and adding/deleting index), program set, Service Broker, SQL Server Profiler (unavailable by default, application for enabling via ticket), Database Tuning Advisor, replication feature, policy management, and proxy enabling/disabling feature, etc.
