Overview

The following introduces the creation of an RDS for MySQL proxy instance, and you may create and manage the instance via the RDS console.

Notes:

• Master instance must be created before the creation of a proxy instance.
• Presently, proxy instance supports the creation of master instances of MySQL 5.6 and MySQL 5.7
• Presently, proxy instance only supports "Postpaid" rather than "Prepaid".
• Only one proxy instance can be purchased each time, and only one proxy instance may be purchased for one master instance.
• Proxy instance configuration is automatically matched to master instance configuration, without the need and possibility of change. If the master instance configuration is upgraded, the proxy instance configuration is upgraded simultaneously, with fees being charged at the same time.

Create a proxy instance

1. Log in to Baidu AI Cloud Official Website, and enter the RDS console.

Select "Product Service > Database > RDS", and enter the "RDS Console".

2. Select a master instance.

After entering the RDS console, select one master instance of MySQL Dual-computer Version and click the "Instance Name" to enter the instance details page. On the "Instance Details" page, click "Create Proxy Instance" at the top right corner to enter "Create" page. Select the following information and confirm the instance configuration.

Availability zone

• See the "Master Instance" for the allocation by default, and proxy instance nodes are randomly allocated to different AZs selected.
• The users may select AZ according to their needs.

Configuration Information

Notes:

• Proxy instance's database type keeps consistent with the master instance's
• By default, the network of the proxy instance is the same as the master instance's, and sub-net may be custom.

Purchase Information

• Presently, proxy instance only supports "Postpaid" rather than "Prepaid".
• Only one proxy instance can be purchased each time, and only one proxy instance may be purchased for one master instance.

3. Confirm the configuration.

After confirming the configuration information, click "Next" to go to the payment page. Here, you may view the selected instance's package and price for your confirmation.

4. Confirm the order.

After confirming, click the "Go to pay" button at the lower right corner. Then, the system shows the "Payment" page, on which you may confirm the payment and complete the order.

5. Make a payment successfully.

You may view the order by clicking "View Order Details", or click "Management Console" to enter "RDS-Instance List". The system creates an RDS instance at the back end, which usually lasts for 5-10 minutes. After successful creation, you receive the information "Successfully create an RDS instance".

6. View the Instance.

After successful purchase, return to the "RDS-Instance List" page, where you may view the created RDS instance, instance status, location, database type, and expiry time.

7. View the instance details.

In the instance list, click the instance name to enter the proxy instance details page. The "Basic Information" tag shows such information as instance running status and configuration. You may select other tags to manage and operate the instance.
