The following introduces the creation of the RDS for MySQL master instance, and you can create Standalone Basic, Dual High-availability, and Raft Financial master instances via the RDS console. For details about database series supported by different database engine types, see Database Series Instructions. Dual High-availability is taken as an example below for instructions:

Dual-computer High-availability

The "Dual-computer High-availability" master instance is created according to the following steps:

1. Log in to Baidu AI Cloud Official Website , and enter the RDS console.

   Select "Product Service > RDS", and enter the "RDS Instance List" page.

2. Clock "Create an RDS Instance".

After entering the RDS console, click the "Create an Instance" button. Enter the "Create an Instance" page on the instance creation page.

3. Select "Prepaid" or "Postpaid" in the upper left corner as required to enter the "Purchase Option" page, and then enter the relevant configuration information.

   Region information

Notes:

1. Switch to the current region on the "North China-Beijing" bar at the top left corner. Regions supported by Dual High-availability for now include North China-Beijing, North China -Baoding, East China-Suzhou, South China-Guangzhou, Financial East China -Shanghai, Financial Central China-Wuhan, Hong Kong, Singapore.
2. Select "AZ" (availability zone), which denotes the data center with relatively isolated physical resources:

• Single-AZ (A, B, C……): The master instance is created in the same AZ.
• Multi-AZ (A+B, A+C, and B+C……): Includes two (or multiple) AZs. When creating, the master instance's master/backup nodes are respectively created in different areas of the multi-AZ.

Configuration Information

Notes:

• Specification: maximum numbers of connections supported by memories of different specifications vary from one another. Please choose according to the maximum number of connections provided.
• Storage disk: this storage space includes data space, system file space, "binlog" file space, and transaction file space.
• Network type: The RDS supports universal network and private network (Virtual Private Cloud, VPC for short). VPC network needs to be created in advance, or you may modify the network type after creating an instance.

Purchase Information

Notes:

• Duration for purchase: select the time length for monthly/yearly package.
• Master instance supports both "prepaid" and "postpaid", but duration for purchase must be selected for prepaid.
• Sets for purchase: number of instances with the same configuration in purchase
• You may set "Auto Renewal" via the "User-defined" feature.

4. Confirm the configuration.

   After confirming the configuration information, click "Next" to go to the payment page. Here, you may view the selected instance's package and price for your confirmation.

5. Confirm the order.

   After confirming, click the "Go to pay" button at the lower right corner. Then, the system shows the "Payment" page, on which you may confirm the payment and complete the order.

6. Make a payment successfully.

   You can view the order by clicking "View Order Details", or click "Management Console" to enter "RDS-Instance List". The system creates an RDS instance at the back end, which usually lasts for 5-10 minutes. After successful creation, you receive the information "Successfully create an RDS instance".

7. View the Instance

   After successful purchase, return to the "RDS-Instance List" page, where you may view the created RDS instance, instance status, location, database type, and expiry time.

8. View instance details.

   In the instance list, click the Instance Name to go to the Instance Details page, where the "Basic Information" tag shows information such as instance running status and configuration. You may select other tags to manage and operate the instance.

Create other master instances

1. Standalone Basic Version: For creation details, see the steps for the creation of the "Dual High-availability" master instance.

2. Raft Financial Version:

   • If you need to use Raft Financial, submit the Ticket and apply for enabling the whitelist.
   • To use Raft Financial, you need to select a financial zone on the "RDS Instance List" page: take Wuhan Financial Zone as an example, click "Financial Raft Instance" Navbar, enter "Instance List" page to create an instance. For other actions, see "Dual High-availability".
