Overview

When you have to monitor the items such as the peak bandwidth of the CDN domain name, proportion of 4xx5xx status codes, traffic hit rate, traffic and number of requests, you can directly set the alarm rules in the cloud monitoring console. When the alarm rule is triggered, Baidu Cloud Monitor sends you an alarm message through the notification method you set, such as SMS and email.

Create Alarm Policy

1.Log into the CDN Management Console and enter the “Content Delivery Network (CDN) " page.

2.Click Domain Name Management on the left navigation bar.

3.On the domain name management page, select the target domain name, click More Operations in the upper navigation bar, and select Alarm.

4.Enter the Baidu Cloud Monitor (BCM) alarm management interface, click Add Strategy under the Navbar of alarm strategy, enter the page to create the alarm strategy, and set the following alarm strategy parameters.

Configuration items	Description
Policy name	Enter the name of the alarm strategy created, and support user's customization.
Threshold	Support the user to select monitoring items, and the custom values of the monitoring items selected. E.g.: Count of 4xx state code > 5.
Statistical period	The time duration of data statistics. Commonly, all the data in the cycle is calculated according to certain Statistics.
Statistical methods	Methods used to computing the monitoring item data within the statistical period. Minimum value: The minimum value of monitoring item data within the statistical period. Maximum value: The maximum value of monitoring item data within the statistical period. Sum value : The sum value of monitoring item data within the statistical period. Average value : Average value of the monitored item data in the statistical period. The computing method is sum/sampleCount. Count statistics: The number of the monitoring item data in the assigned period of time.
Alarm Level	Users can customize the urgency of this alarm policy, including , notification, warning, major, and severity.
Give an alarm after duplicating several times	Supports user-defined triggering of alarm events several times over the threshold. In each statistical period, determine a data point and compare it with the threshold. When appears for the data point 1 time/3 times/5 times >= / <= / > / < / ! = The threshold triggers an alarm event。

5.Set alarm action, select the existing alarm action, or Add Alarm Action).

6.Click Save, the alarm strategy will be displayed on the Alarm Strategy Management Interface after successful creation.

Example description

The alarm strategy configured as in the figure is:

You have created an alarm strategy named CDNtest. Judge every 5 minutes whether the sum of all monitoring data in the 5 minutes is greater than 5 for the number of 4xx status codes. When the sum is greater than 5 for 3 times, trigger the alarm event on the severity level.

Add Alarm Actions

There are two ways to add the alarm action.

Method 1: Create on "Add Strategy" page

1.In Baidu Cloud Monitor (BCM) alarm management interface, click Add Strategy under the navbar of alarm strategy, enter the page to create the alarm strategy, and set the alarm strategy parameters. 2.In the module of Alarm Action, click Add Alarm Actions and enter the page of "Create Alarm Actions".

3.Set the following parameters on the page to create "Alarm Action".

Parameter	Description
Action name	Create alarming action name.
Available region	The alarm action of different regions only applies to the alarm strategy of their own region.
Notification mode	Currently, Baidu AI Cloud supports such forms as email notification,short message and email + short message.
Notification object	Support two modes :< strong> user group and user. If you do not have a created notification object at present, you can click Add User Group for creation.
Timed close	Can select whether to regularly disable the warning action.

4.Click the Save button, the alarm action is added successfully.

Method 2: Create on the “Alarm action” page

1.After you enter the Baidu Cloud Monitor (BCM) alarm management page, click Alarm Action on the Navbar on the top, and enter the page of alarm action management.

2.Click Create Action, and enter the page of creation.

3.Set the parameter for alarm action.

Parameter	Description
Action name	Create alarming action name.
Available region	The alarm action of different regions only applies to the alarm strategy of their own region.
Notification mode	Baidu AI Cloud supports the forms of “email notification ", “SMS notification " and “email + SMS notification " at present.
Notification object	Support two modes: "user group" and "user". When you do not have a notification object created currently, you can click “Add User Group” to create it.
Timed close	Can select whether to regularly disable the warning action.

4.Click the Save button, the alarm action is added successfully.
