Route Table FAQs
Updated at:2025-10-16
What is the purpose of a routing table?
The route table serves as the traffic controller in the VPC, allowing single global route table management for both global and subnet-level traffic control. Users can define route rules to direct network traffic.
What are the advantages of Baidu AI Cloud routing policies?
Baidu's global route table simplifies and streamlines subnet-level traffic management and scheduling. Baidu AI Cloud route tables also support source IP policy routing to enable traffic control based on the source IP.
What routing forwarding policies does Baidu AI Cloud support?
Subnet-level routing policies support source IP policy routing to manage traffic based on source IP.
What are the next-hop types for route tables?
At present, Baidu AI Cloud supports next-hop types such as local forwarding, BCC instances, NAT gateways, VPN gateways, peering connections, and dedicated gateways.
What are the limitations when configuring a route table?
- The maximum number of route table entries is 50
- System-assigned route cannot be deleted or edited; modifications require deletion and recreation
- Custom route table only supports static routing. All network segments in the route table must be valid CIDRs
- When selecting a custom source network segment, ensure the segment falls within the existing subnet range
- The destination segment must not overlap with the current VPC CIDR (except when either is 0.0.0.0/0)
- The source and destination network segments of the newly added route table cannot be the same as those of existing route tables
