##Create VPC

1.Log into Baidu AI Cloudconsole.

2.Select "Product Service>Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)", and select VPC Instance in the navbar to the left to display the page of VPC list.

3.Click the "Create VPC" key, and enter the VPC name and CIDR address to create one VPC.

The CIDR (Classless Inter-Domain Routing) is mainly used to assign IP addresses and valid route IP data packets to users, and an effective method to classify IP addresses. The optional address space of Baidu AI Cloud includes 172.16.x.x -172.31.x.x, 192.168.x.x, 10.0.x.x. The allowed block size is between /24 network masks and /16 network masks.

For example, when you create a VPC of "/24" CIDR block is created, select "172.16.0.0/24" for its CIDR address.

Management of Secondary Segments

1. Log into Baidu AI Cloudconsole.
2. Select "Product Service>Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)", and select VPC Instance in the navbar to the left to display the page of VPC list.
3. For one VPC, go to the operation zone, and click "Manage Secondary Segments" key.

4. In the pop-up box of "Manage Secondary Segments", you can:

   • Click "Add a Secretary Segment" to add a new secondary segment.
   • Click "×" behind the secondary segment to delete one secondary segment.

Note

• When a secondary segment is added, the segment to be added cannot overlap with the existing segment CIDR of the VPC.
• If you want to delete one secondary segment, no subnet cannot exist in the secondary segment.
• A maximum of 5 secondary segments can be created for each VPC.

5. Click "Confirm", and return to the page of VPC instance list to view the configuration results.

Relay VPC

The relay VPC can forward the traffic which is not from the VPC. The route source segment in the VPC is configured by the users themselves and can be any segment, including 0.0.0.0/0 segment and other segments which are not in the VPC. It greatly increases the flexibility of connection products such as peer-to-peer connection. Meanwhile in other to avoid the risks of network topology loops, two directly connected VPCs cannot be simultaneously relay VPCs.

After the route relay function is enabled, the VPC becomes a relay VPC and the route table can forward the traffic which is not from the VPC. The route source segment is configured by the users themselves and can be any segment, including 0.0.0.0/0 segment and other segments which are not in the VPC. This option is closed by default, namely, the route table forwards only the traffic from this VPC. The segment whose configuration is customized by the route source segment can be in only the subnet.

1. Log into Baidu AI Cloudconsole.
2. Select "Product Service>Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)", and select the routing table in the navbar to the left to display the page of routing table list.
3. The trunk switch can be enabled through the list of routing table.

Note

• A route which is an instance route is not impacted by the relay switch.
• The relay switch cannot be closed if the route table contains any source segments which are all zeros and the segments in the custom non-subnet.

DHCP Option Set

The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a network protocol of LAN, which is typically used in large local area network environment, and provides standards to transfer the configuration information to TCP/IP network server.

Baidu Cloud Compute in the virtual private cloud of Baidu AI Cloud supports to configure the fields of DHCP option sets, which include: Domain name, and domain name server. The configuration is valid for all Baidu Cloud Computes under virtual private cloud.

1. Log into Baidu AI Cloudconsole.
2. Select "Product Service>Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)", and select VPC Instance in the navbar to the left to display the page of VPC list.
3. Click the name of VPC instance, enter the detailed page to configure the domain name and domain name server in the basic information.

Configuration items	Description
Domain name	Support up to 5 domain names, which shall be separated by a comma. The default domain name is $region.baidu.internal, which represents the default domain suffix for the regional CVM server. If it is customized to other domain name, it will return via DHCP, and will supplement the query for CVM server name with non $region.baidu.internal via search list suffix.
Domain name server	Support up to 4 IPs, which shall be separated by a comma. If the domain name server defaults to be null, it represents that the default DNS server of Baidu AI Cloud is used. If you do not use the default DNS, you cannot parse the internal services of Baidu AI Cloud. It is recommended that the next hop of the customized DNS server be set as the default DNS server of Baidu AI Cloud.

Note The customized CVM server name can be set by Baidu AI Cloud parsing - Private Network DNS service, and please refer to Private Network DNS Service Operation Guide for specific configuration.
