Custom Image

Overview

The custom image is a snapshot based on the Baidu Cloud Compute (BCC) system disk at a certain time, and actually save the BCC system disk which is being used as a private image. The image can only be seen by the user himself/herself.

The users can select to create custom images when they want to redeploy the complex initialized system, and deploy the servers with the same configuration for multiple times, or carry out the large-scale test and the quick deployment of the software developer's own software.

You can create a custom image by the system disk snapshot.

Operation steps

1.Log in to cloud platform

Log in to official website.

  • In case you are not registered, you must first register account.
  • Registered, direct "login".

2.Log in to the BCC console

On the left of the console, select "Product Service > Baidu Cloud Compute (BCC)" to enter the page of BCC instance list. Click "Snapshot" on the left of the page to enter the page of snapshot list.

3.Create a custom image

Select the system disk snapshot for creating a custom image, and click the button of "Create a Custom Image" in the operation bar to create a custom image.

4.Enter the image name

Note:

  • The name length of the custom image is 1-64 characters which can only include numbers, letters and struck-through "-", and start with letters.

5.Create image

Enter the new image name to start creation of an image. The creation of an image requires about 1-10 minutes.

6.View image

Select "Image" in the left navigation. In the tab page of "Custom Image", view the image "Status" is "Creating" or "Completed".

7.Follow-up operation

After creation the custom image, you can complete the operation of "Create Instance" in the tab page of custom image. When an instance is created by the custom image, the system will select the instance image as the custom image by default. You can also re-select the public image or other service integrated image according to your own requirements.
