          Cloud Disk Service

          Billing Problems

Will the Cloud Disk Storage (CDS) be charged after it is disconnected from the instance?

The Cloud Disk Storage (CDS) is charged no matter whether it is mounted. Additionally, when the Cloud Disk Storage (CDS) is in arrears or expires, the system marks the disk as the status of "Arrears" or "Expiration". No operations other than the renewal are allowed. If the CDS disk and a Baidu Cloud Compute instance are connected in case of arrears, the system forces the Cloud Disk Storage (CDS) to be uninstalled. After renewal, the users should manually mount the disk to the Baidu Cloud Compute again.

Is there any traffic limit on the Cloud Disk Storage (CDS)?

No, there is no traffic limit on CDS. But after the disk is mounted to the virtual machine, the virtual machine generates a certain limit on IOPS and throughput of the disk.

Is the creation of Cloud Disk Storage (CDS)/rollback from snapshots charged?

The operation itself is not charged.

Why is the postpaid bill still generated when the prepaid fees has been paid once only for the Cloud Disk Storage (CDS) of the user?

The transaction system allocates the purchase bills of prepaid instances into postpaid bills for billing.

How to release the Cloud Disk Storage (CDS)?

If you want to release one Cloud Disk Storage (CDS) separately, we recommend you to create snapshots for the disk before release to back up the data in the disk. Before release, you should first Uninstall CDS Disk and then release the disk. If the charging mode of the cloud disk is prepaid, you should submit a work order to apply for a refund. If the disk utilizes the post-payment mode, you can directly release the disk by the Console or API.

Are the snapshots generated by Cloud Disk Storage charged?

At present, Baidu Intelligent Cloud CDS snapshot service has been officially charged in March 13, 2020. For details, please check the snapshot billing help document.

When will the billing change become valid?

If you initiate billing change for the prepaid CDS cloud disk, the change can become valid after the prepaid disk expires. If you initiate billing change for the postpaid CDS cloud disk, the billing change become valid immediately after you select and confirm the prepaid period.

Is there any time limitation on renewal when the prepaid disk is renewed?

No. You can flexibly select the required renewal period, which is not limited by the prepaid period of the current prepaid disk.
