Overview

Because the snapshots have region attributes, the snapshots created by you can only be used in this region. If you want to share the snapshot data among other regions, you can use the cross-region replication function of snapshots. After cross-region replication of the snapshots, you can create a Cloud Disk Storage (CDS) in accordance with the snapshot data replicated in other regions.

Note:

• Only the snapshots created for the data disk can realize cross-region replication, and the snapshots created for the system disk doesn't support the cross-region replication.

Operation Steps

1.Log in to cloud platform

Log in to official website.

• In case you are not registered, you must first register account.
• Registered, direct "Login".

2.Log in to the BCC console

On the left of the console, select "Product Service > Baidu Cloud Compute (BCC)" to enter the page of BCC instance list. Click "Snapshot" on the left of the page to enter the page of snapshot list.

3.Select an snapshot

Select the snapshot for cross-region replication in the list, click "Cross-region Replication" in the operation bar to initiate the cross-region replication operation.

4.Select the region to be replicated

After clicking "Cross-region Replication", select the target region to be replicated in the pop-up.

5.View snapshot

After the cross-region replication, you can view the replicated snapshot in the snapshot list of the target region. The replicated snapshot will be displayed as "Migrated" in the creation mode.

6.Follow-up operation

You can initiate a new operation for the replicated snapshot in the new region, such as creation of a new CDS.
