          Backup and Recovery

          The users can use the snapshot feature of Cloud Disk Storage (CDS) to realize efficient snapshot backup of data at any time; at any time, the users can select the snapshot point for data recovery.

          No Capacity Planning

          The users don't necessarily prepay the capacity cost required in the future or promise to use for a long term, and can pay for the currently required capacity and performance only, and can quickly scale up with the service development at any time.

          Safe and Reliable

          CDS has flexible access control policies to enable users securely manage the stored data. Meanwhile, the distributed multi-replica redundant storage technology and the flexible snapshot backup feature of CDS protect the users from the threat of any component failure.

          Independence and Persistence

          The users can cancel the binding relation between the connected CDS storage volumes and the cloud server instances at any time, and then make other binding operations; the unbound CDS can be mounted to the instance of any cloud server. When the instance is deleted, the CDS data still exist.

          Mass Storage

          Individual CDS instances currently support a maximum capacity of 32 TB. The users can mount multiple CDS instances to the cloud server in accordance with the storage requirements, so as to meet the mass storage requirements of data. Meanwhile, as a block-level device service, CDS has no data structure requirements, and the users can use it to store any form of mass static or dynamic data.

          Multiple Disk Types

          CDS provides a variety of disk types to support I/O storage services in different scenarios. You can directly create suitable CDS for data storage in accordance with service requirements. When your service changes, you can change the Type and Capacity of the CDS online.

          • General SSD: The high-performance SSD solid state disk is used, and applicable to I/O intensive applications and large-scale OLTP service.
          • High-performance CDS: high-performance read-write throughput and high IOPS, applicable to frequent I/O operation, large database and game under construction, and other application scenarios.
          • High-throughput HDD: It is applicable to the usage scenarios with a low IO and high throughput, such as service log storage, data warehouse.
          • General HDD: low disk performance requirements or non-intensive I/O operation, the economical and practical common CDS can be selected and are usually used in the scenarios such as station construction.
          • Last-generation CDS: With a low price, it is applicable to the scenarios which are not frequently accessed or have a low IO load, such as service simulation test.
