Create a dedicated cluster

Updated at:2025-11-03

Before using the CDS dedicated cluster, you need to create one first.

Prerequisites

Currently, CDS dedicated clusters are included in the allow list for testing. If you need to use it, please submit a ticket to contact us, specifying the intended usage scenario, target availability zone, capacity, and type in the ticket. Before use, please read What is a Dedicated Cluster and Billing Introductions .

Operation steps

  1. Sign in to the Baidu Cloud Compute (BCC) console.
  2. In the left navigation bar, go to "Storage & Snapshots - Dedicated Clusters."
  3. Click the "Create Dedicated Cluster" button at the top of the page.
  4. Choose the region, availability zone (AZ), cluster type, and capacity based on your requirements. Details of specific configuration options:

    Configuration items Configuration description
    Billing and region
    • Select the region to be purchased
    • Select the availability zone to be purchased
    • Select bill type (only prepay method supported)
    Configuration
    • Cluster performance types: SSD dedicated CDS clusters and HDD dedicated CDS clusters. Among them, SSD dedicated CDS clusters can create general-purpose SSD, and HDD dedicated CDS clusters can create general-purpose HDD. For performance details of both disk types, refer to Disk Performance Introductions
    • Capacity: In GB, 87,040GB (85TB) – 1,039,360GB (1015TB), with a purchase step size of 10,240GB (10TB)
    • Cluster name: You can set the cluster name when creating a dedicated cluster. Naming rules: Supports uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, Chinese characters, and -_/. special characters, starting with a Chinese character or letter and a length of 1-65
    Purchase period
    • 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, 5 years

  1. Click Next to view the total configuration cost and carefully read the cluster notes. Once confirmed, click Buy Now to complete payment. After payment is completed, the dedicated cluster will be delivered within 21 working days. Please wait patiently and check the cluster status. When the cluster status changes from Pending Delivery to Running, the dedicated cluster becomes available.

Subsequent operations

After the dedicated cluster is created, you can view the purchased cluster information on the dedicated cluster page and create cloud disk server (CDS):

  • Check cluster information: Check remaining available capacity, expiration time, status, and other details of the dedicated cluster.
  • Create the cloud disk server on dedicated clusters: After cluster delivery, you can create cloud disk server through dedicated clusters.
