Pay as you go

Updated at:2025-11-03

Baidu AI Cloud CDS provides two flexible payment options: subscription and pay-as-you-go. The pay-as-you-go option follows a post-payment model, with fees calculated in real-time based on your usage, such as increasing or reducing instance configurations.

Pay-as-you-go price

If you choose the pay-as-you-go method to purchase cloud disks, please note the following billing rules:

  • CDS cloud disks are billed by the minute, and any usage less than one minute is rounded up to one minute.
  • Invoices are generated hourly, with charges deducted and bills issued at the start of the next hour (Beijing Time). For example, the bill for 10:00-11:00 will be generated before 12:00, based on the system billing time.
  • Before making a purchase, ensure your account has no outstanding debt and that the combined total of your account balance and available coupons is at least RMB 100.

For detailed pay-as-you-go prices, see Cloud Disk CDS Pricing Instructions -> Disks -> Pay-As-You-Go

Description:

  • Previous-generation cloud disks and high-throughput HDDs have been discontinued; new purchases are no longer supported, and it is recommended that you purchase other types of cloud disks. For existing previous-generation cloud disks or high-throughput HDDs, capacity expansion may fail in some regions. You can change the disk type to a cloud disk of the same price tier or a higher-performance type. Disk type changes are performed online and do not affect the disk’s read/write processes;
  • The minimum purchase capacity for general-purpose SSD cloud disks is 50 GB. The minimum purchase capacity for other disk types is 5 GB. For details on cloud disk types and performance, see Introduction.

System disk billing & price adjustment

The previously offered 40 GB free system disk policy for Baidu Cloud Compute CDS was terminated on April 8, 2020. For users who purchased postpaid BCC instances before this adjustment, the 40 GB free capacity on the associated postpaid CDS system disk remains usable as normal. However, starting April 8, this capacity will be charged at the CDS list price corresponding to the disk type. Any capacity created exceeding 40 GB will not be affected by this change and will continue to follow the original billing method. The detailed price changes are as follows:

The impact of this billing adjustment includes:

  • For the postpaid CDS system disks included in postpaid Baidu Cloud Compute (BCC) (architectures: x86 computing and heterogeneous computing GPU) purchased before this adjustment, the previously free 40 GB capacity will be charged at the CDS list price corresponding to the disk type. If the system disk capacity you created exceeds 40 GB, the billing method for the excess part remains unchanged and is not affected by this adjustment;
  • For prepaid CDS system disks included in prepaid BCC instances (architectures: x86 computing and heterogeneous computing GPU) purchased before this adjustment, the policy remains unaffected, and the 40 GB free capacity can still be used until the instance expires. However, if the prepaid BCC instance is renewed after expiration, the included CDS system disk will no longer offer a free 40 GB capacity. Additionally, any operations such as capacity expansion or reconfiguration on the prepaid CDS system disk of a prepaid BCC instance will no longer include a free 40 GB capacity as part of the change order.
  • For prepaid and postpaid BCC instances (architectures: x86 computing and heterogeneous computing GPU) purchased after this adjustment, the included CDS system disks will not offer any free 40 GB capacity.

The purchasing methods affected by this billing adjustment include:

  • CDS system disks included in Baidu Cloud Compute (BCC) (with architectures including x86 computing and heterogeneous computing GPU) that you purchase directly via the console or API;
  • CDS system disks included in BCC (with architectures including x86 computing and heterogeneous computing GPU) created via auto scaling (AS);
  • CDS system disks included in BCC (with architectures including x86 computing and heterogeneous computing GPU) created via resource orchestration (COS);
  • CDS data disks are not covered under this pricing adjustment.

The regions affected by this billing adjustment includes:

  • This pricing adjustment applies to all public cloud regions of Baidu AI Cloud, including North China - Beijing, North China - Baoding, East China - Suzhou, South China - Guangzhou, Central China Financial - Wuhan, East China Financial - Shanghai, Hong Kong (China), and Singapore.

CDS system disk pricing after this billing adjustment:

  • The cost for the full purchased capacity of CDS system disks aligns with the pricing for CDS data disks.

Arrears reminders & handling

Insufficient balance reminder

  • The system checks whether your account balance (including available coupons) is sufficient to cover the costs for the next 3 days based on the average payable bill amount from the last 3 days. If the balance is insufficient, the system will send a renewal reminder.
  • The system checks whether your account balance (including available coupons) is sufficient to cover the costs for the next day based on the average payable bill amount from the last day. If the balance is insufficient, the system will send a renewal reminder.
  • At the top of each hour, Beijing Time, the system checks if your account balance is sufficient to pay the current CDS bill (e.g., at 11:00 Beijing Time, it checks if the account balance is enough to pay the bill for 10:00 to 11:00). If insufficient, it results in debt, and the system will send a debt notification.

Handling after arrears

  • In the event of debt, the system will send a notification about service suspension. Data will be retained for 7 days, and fees will apply during this period.
  • If the disk is mounted, you can unmount it; if it is not mounted, you can release it. All other operations are prohibited during the arrears period.
  • CDS data resources that are overdue for more than 7 days will be cleared and irrecoverable. Please pay attention to SMS and email notifications and renew in a timely manner.
  • If no recharge is made within 7 days, the system will release the disk. A release notification will be sent 1 day before the release, and another notification will be sent when the release occurs. Please pay attention to these notifications.
