Billing Problems
Will a CDS cloud disk be charged if it is disconnected from an instance?
Regardless of whether a CDS cloud disk is mounted or not, charges will still apply. Additionally, if a CDS cloud disk goes into arrears or expires, the system will label it as "in arrears" or "expired." At that point, no actions other than renewal will be allowed. If the CDS disk is connected to a cloud server instance during arrears, the system will forcibly unmount it. Once the disk is successfully renewed, you will need to remount it manually.
Does a CDS cloud disk have traffic limits?
No, CDS does not have traffic limitations. However, when the disk is mounted to a virtual machine, the virtual machine may impose restrictions on the disk’s IOPS and throughput.
Is there a charge for creating a CDS cloud disk from a snapshot or rolling back a disk from a snapshot?
The operation itself does not involve any additional costs.
A user has paid the one-time subscription fee for their CDS cloud disk. Why are post-payment bills still being generated?
The transaction system will divide the purchase bill of a prepaid instance into postpaid bills before finalizing them.
How to release a CDS cloud disk?
If you want to release a single CDS cloud disk independently, it is recommended to create a snapshot of the disk to back up its data before release. Before releasing the disk, you need to [unmount the CDS disk](CDS/Disk Operation Guide/Basic Operations/Unmount Cloud Disk Server.md) first; only after unmounting can you release it.
- If the disk uses the prepaid billing method, self-service unsubscription is currently supported. You can operate in the console under Console > Financial Center > Unsubscription Management. For detailed steps, please refer to the Unsubscription Operation.
- If the disk uses the postpaid billing method, you can release it directly via the console or API.
Are snapshots generated by a CDS cloud disk charged?
Currently, Baidu AI Cloud CDS snapshot services officially began charging on March 13, 2020. For details, please refer to the Snapshot Billing help document.
When does a billing change take effect?
If you request a billing change for a prepaid CDS cloud disk, the change will take effect after the prepaid period ends. In contrast, for a postpaid CDS cloud disk, the change will take effect immediately upon selecting and confirming the new subscription duration.
Are there any time limits for renewing a prepaid CDS cloud disk?
No, you can freely choose the renewal duration without being restricted by the current subscription period of the prepaid disk.
