Adjustments to prepay Disk renew, shift charge, and Unsubscribe Operations

Adjustment details

To improve the management efficiency of prepaid resources, starting from September 13, 2024, Baidu AI Cloud CDS (Cloud Disk Service) will adjust the operations for prepaid disk renewal, billing changes, and unsubscription

  • For prepaid CDS cloud disks that are mounted on prepaid BCC instances, operations such as renewing the BCC instance or enabling/disabling auto-renewal will automatically also apply to the associated cloud disks.
  • To convert a postpaid cloud disk to prepaid, ensure it is mounted on a prepaid BCC cloud server instance first. After switching to the prepaid type, the disk’s expiration date and auto-renewal status will automatically align with the BCC instance.
  • Prepaid cloud disks must be unsubscribed along with their associated cloud server. Alternatively, you can unsubscribe from prepaid resources beforehand by converting the prepaid disk to postpaid (effective immediately) and then releasing the disk.

Usage recommendations

  • To simplify the management of multiple prepaid resources, it's advised to synchronize the lifecycle of prepaid CDS cloud disks with their associated BCC cloud server instances. You can later switch the disk to an independent lifecycle by converting it to postpaid (effective immediately).
  • For more flexible mounting options, consider creating postpaid cloud disks and pairing them with general storage capacity packages (GSCP).
