Product Introduction

Updated at:2025-10-16

EIP

EIP is an independent product that provides users with IPv4 and IPv6 public network bandwidth services.

Description:

  • IPv6 EIP is currently unavailable in the Suzhou region.

The main uses of EIP include:

  • Using EIP instances, users can access public network bandwidth services seamlessly.
  • Users have the flexibility to configure EIP instance billing modes, such as pay-as-you-go (based on bandwidth or traffic) and subscription (based on bandwidth).
  • EIP instances can be bound or unbound to various resources, including Baidu Cloud Compute (BCC), Baidu Baremetal Server (BBC), Dedicated Cloud Server (DCC), Load Balancer (BLB), Redis Cloud Database, Baidu Container Instance (BCI), VPN gateway, NAT gateway, or elastic network interface, to adapt to diverse service needs.

EIP supports two internet connection types: Enhanced BGP and standard BGP, with differences as follows:

Comparison items Enhanced BGP Standard BGP
Application scenarios Suitable for low-IP high-bandwidth scenarios Suitable for high-IP low-bandwidth scenarios
Price Higher IP leasing fees but lower bandwidth costs Lower IP leasing fees but higher bandwidth fees
Supported regions Beijing, Baoding, Suzhou, Shanghai, Wuhan, Guangzhou All regions
Protection Capability Without switching to DDoS-protected IPs, traffic burst service package enables native full-egress protection at 100G level Provide 5G DDoS basic native protection. For greater DDoS protection, switch to DDoS advanced defense IP
Bandwidth Range 100-5000Mbps 1-500Mbps

EIPGROUP

EIPGROUP enables region-wide bandwidth sharing and multiplexing, allowing multiple EIPs to share a combined network capacity. By leveraging EIPGROUP during varying traffic peak times, public internet access costs can be reduced.

Address pool

Address pools can allocate specific IP address segments to users. Unlike shared address segment, specific ranges are exclusively for the customer, with the following key features:

  • Dedicated address pools provide contiguous segments of IP addresses.
  • Public IPs need to be specified when using dedicated address pools.
  • Beyond the standard quota, dedicated address pools allow an increase in IP quotas to meet the demands of customers.

Description:

  • Each dedicated address pool can only include a single IP address segment.
  • The dedicated address pool supports both IPv4 and IPv6 public IPs, where IPv4 addresses are chargeable, but IPv6 addresses are free of cost.

Bandwidth package

Bandwidth packages consist of two types:

  • Bandwidth scale-up package: This package allows users to bind it to prepaid EIP instances or EIPGROUP to temporarily increase prepaid bandwidth. Bandwidth scaling is supported anytime, and once deleted, the EIP reverts to its original bandwidth. The bandwidth package offers enhanced flexibility in configuring EIP bandwidth.
  • Cross-border acceleration package: This package can be attached to any billing type EIP instances or EIPGROUP for temporary cross-border bandwidth expansion. It supports on-demand scalability and automatically reverts the EIP instance or EIPGROUP to its original cross-border bandwidth after release, offering greater configuration flexibility. Cross-border connections use direct, high-quality carrier networks to the Chinese Mainland, bypassing international carrier routes for reduced latency.

Shared traffic package

The shared traffic package is now available—a convenient and cost-effective traffic plan. Once purchased, it takes effect immediately, and postpay EIP traffic fees in the same region will be automatically offset until the shared traffic package is fully used or expires.

TBSP

TBSP is a built-in network product of Baidu AI Cloud that safeguards against traffic surges without changing origin server IPs. It is tailored for services hosted on Baidu AI Cloud and is ideal for large-scale users requiring high-quality networks. Though such users may encounter rare traffic bursts, any significant surge could harm services and cause financial losses. TBSP effectively mitigates network-layer DDoS attacks (e.g., SYN Flood, ACK Flood, ICMP Flood, UDP Flood) and application-layer attacks like CC attacks, minimizing risks from sudden traffic spikes.

DDoS standard protection

Baidu AI Cloud DDoS Basic Protection offers free fundamental DDoS defense to ensure secure daily operations and reliable functionality of cloud resources. Customers can enjoy free DDoS protection up to 5Gbps (1Gbps in Hong Kong) with real-time traffic monitoring and immediate attack mitigation enabled by default.

Note: For enhanced DDoS protection, select the TBSP based on service demands to rapidly counter attacks.

Differences between DDoS basic protection service, TBSP, and DDoS Advanced Defense IP:

Up to 1Gbps protection capacity is provided for the Hong Kong region
Comparison items DDoS basic protection TBSP DDoS Advanced Defense IP
Protected object Provide basic DDoS protection for cloud customers Only enhance DDoS protection capability for public services within Baidu AI Cloud For users inside and outside the cloud, it supports protection for website domain names and service port access
Protection Capability Up to 5Gbps protection capability is provided for the Chinese Mainland The protection capacity is typically no less than 100~300 Gbps Total DDoS protection capacity at Tera-level
Network Latency Native network without additional Latency Native network without additional Latency Redirect attack Traffic to the anti-DDoS center for scrubbing before returning it to the origin, increasing network Latency
Access cost No additional configuration required Configuration is more convenient, eliminating the necessity to change server IPs. Defense capabilities for cloud products are enhanced directly, and take effect immediately with low access costs Since DDoS advanced defense adopts a forwarding architecture, it is necessary to modify DNS resolution or service IP for protection integration, with complex configuration requiring domain name and port information
Charge type Free product Simple billing: sold per "protected IP count" with full protection Complicated billing, including "base package fee" and "elastic protection fee"
Application scenarios Low-risk DDoS protection scenario: Public services are deployed on Baidu AI Cloud with small scale, infrequent DDoS attacks, and sensitivity to network latency Low-risk DDoS protection scenario: Public services are deployed on Baidu AI Cloud with large scale, occasional DDoS attacks, and sensitivity to network latency High-risk DDoS protection scenario: Frequently subjected to malicious large-scale DDoS attacks, requiring continuous DDoS protection to ensure service stability
