EIPGROUP Billing
Updated at:2025-10-16
EIPGROUP supports both prepaid and postpaid options.
Prepaid options follow subscription billing, while postpaid options include bandwidth-based billing, enhanced 95th percentile billing, and primary traffic-based billing.
EIPGROUP type is categorized into two classes: Standard BGP and enhanced BGP. Billing rates for the same EIPGROUP may vary across regions. For details, refer toEIP Pricing Details.
| Bill type | Charge type | Billing formula |
|---|---|---|
| Prepay | Subscription | EIPGROUP cost = Bandwidth cost + IP usage fee × Number of IPs |
| Postpay | Bandwidth-based billing | Cost = IP lease unit-price × duration × IP count + bandwidth unit-price × bandwidth value |
| Postpay | Billed by enhanced 95th percentile | Cost = Public IP lease unit-price × duration × number of IPs + guaranteed bandwidth price × guaranteed bandwidth × duration + Enhanced 95th percentile bandwidth price × (monthly peak bandwidth - guaranteed bandwidth) × effective days in month / total days in month |
| Postpay | Primary traffic-based billing | Cost = IP address leasing unit-price × usage duration × IP count + primary traffic used (GB) × Traffic unit-price |
Description
Billed by enhanced 95th percentile:
- Guaranteed bandwidth refers to the multiplied value of the purchased EIPGROUP peak bandwidth and the guaranteed ratio (default is 20%). For example, if the purchased EIPGROUP peak bandwidth is 100Mbps, the guaranteed bandwidth would amount to 20Mbps.
Monthly peak bandwidth
- Daily peak: Samples are taken every 5 minutes, recording the maximum value of either ingress or egress traffic per minute and calculating the average bandwidth over 5 minutes. After collecting all daily samples, these points are sorted in descending order, the top 4 highest points are excluded, and the 5th highest point is identified as the daily peak.
- Monthly peak bandwidth: At the end of the month, daily peaks are ranked from highest to lowest. The average of the top 5 highest daily peaks is used to determine the monthly average peak.
- Monthly active days: Refers to the actual number of days the instance was active within a calendar month. For instance, if an EIPGROUP billed under the enhanced 95th percentile model was purchased on January 1, 2020, and released on January 10, 2020, the monthly active days would total 10.
Primary traffic-based billing:
- Supported IP versions include both IPv4 and IPv6.
- The billing and invoice cycle is 1 hour.
- Primary traffic: For each billing cycle, the larger of the inbound or outbound traffic of the EIPGROUP instance is designated as the primary traffic.
- Minimum guaranteed traffic: Enhanced BGP IPv4 provides guaranteed traffic (calculated as IP count × 1000GB). Standard BGP IPv4/IPv6 and enhanced BGP IPv6 do not include guaranteed traffic.
