          IPv6 Ending Function

Baidu AI Cloud integrates IPv6 end feature on EIP to provide IPv6 accessibility for the cloud server, load balance and other instances bound with EIP. You do not need to reconstruct the existing service architecture deployment, and only need to enable IPv6 end feature in EIP to obtain an IPv6 address, for the service to obtain the ability of providing IPv6 accessibility externally, and the traffic of IPv6 to access to the address is converted into IPv4 traffic for smooth docking of user service and IPv6 network.

Principle for assignment of IPv6 address:

After EIP enables IPv6 end feature, a globally unique IPv6 address is assigned to the EIP, which consists of "400:da00:404:2:" with prefix spliced to the IPv4 address of EIP, i.e. the first 96 bytes of 128-byte IPv6 are fixed prefix, and the last 32 bytes are the IPv4 address of corresponding EIP.

Only one IPv6 address is assigned to each EIP, and after EIP disables IPv6 end feature, theIPv6 address is recovered by the system.

          Note:

Currently, Baidu AI Cloud IPv6 end feature is in public beta stage, and it is only available for trial to the EIP instances in North China-Beijing region, North China-Baoding region, and you can submit Open Beta Test Application to enable the service.

          Operation steps

          1. Enter EIP instance list, select EIP instance to enable IPv6 end feature, and note that the EIP instance must be in Available or Bound state.
          2. Click the button "Enable IPv6 End" in the list of more operations and after confirmation, the system assigns IPv6 address for the specified EIP.

          3. You can bind DNS domain name via the assigned IPv6 address, or provide IPv6 access for the client directly.

          4. For the EIP with IPv6 end enabled, you can view IPv6 related bandwidth, traffic, packet velocity and other monitoring information, and configure the corresponding alarm policy.

          5. If you need to disable IPv6 end feature, select the specified EIP, and click Disable IPv6 end in More Operations

          Note:

          • After enabling IPv6 end feature, the access traffic source IP address in IPv6 network is converted from IPv6 address to the IPv4 address in fixed address field (180.76.40.0/24), and the user security group security policy in ACL needs to be configured to release this address field, otherwise, the access traffic is intercepted by the user security policy.
          • If access traffic level 7 is HTTP protocol, the IPv6 address of client is recorded in X-Forwarded-For header of HTTP, for you to process service according to source IPv6 address.
