Feature Introduction

Users can add multiple instances under the same cloud product to one instance group, which facilitates the view of instance monitoring data and configuration of alarm policies by groups, and can greatly improve the monitoring data view and alarm efficiency when the number of cloud product instances is large.

The instance group has supported two types of cloud products: cloud server BCC and SQL database RDS, and will continue to expand the support range of cloud products in the future.

Create Instance Group

Preconditions: The BCC instance and RDS instance have been created. If they are not created, please refer to Create BCC Instance, and Create RDS Instance.

1.Log in to Baidu AI Cloud, and select the cloud monitoring BCM. In the left navigation bar, click < Instance Group> to enter the page of "Instance Group List".

2.Click < Create An Instance Group > button to enter the page of "Create An Instance".

3.Fill in the name of instance group, and select the instance type and instance region. Tick the instance and click < Save > button to create an instance group.

Note:
One instance can only belong to one instance group. When one instance is added to different instance groups for repeated times. The instance should belong to the instance group which it is added to, and other instance groups automatically delete the instance.

View Instance Monitoring Information in the Instance Group

1.Click the name of instance group to be viewed in the instance group list, and open the details page of the instance group.

2.Click one instance in the instance list, and open the monitoring details page of the instance to view the monitoring information of the instance.

Add/remove Instance

1.Click the name of instance group to be added/removed in the instance group list, and open the details page of the instance group.

2.Add instance: Click < Add An Instance > button, and tick the instance to be added in the pop-up. Click < Confirm > button to add the instance.

3.Remove instance:
Method 1: Select an instance, and click < Remove > button to remove the selected instance from the instance group, and the selection of multiple instances is supported.
Method 2: Directly click < Remove > button on the far right of the instance list, and remove the instance from the instance group.

Note:

• Instances added to the instance group automatically use the alarm policies of the instance group.
• When being removed from the instance group, the instance doesn't use the alarm policies of the instance group any more.

Modify the Name of Instance Group

1.Enter the page of instance group list, hover the mouse over the name of instance group to be modified, and click & lt; edit > button behind the instance name.

2.Modify the instance group name in the pop-up, and click < Confirm> to modify the name of instance group.

Delete Instance Group

1.Enter the page of instance group list, and click < Delete A Group> on the far right of the list.

2.Click < Confirm > button in the pop-up to delete the instance group.

Add Alarm Policy of Instance Group

The alarm policy may be added by two methods:
Method 1:

1.Log in to Baidu AI Cloud, and select the cloud monitoring BCM. In the left navigation bar, click < Instance Group> to enter the page of "Instance Group List".

2.Click < Add An Alarm Policy> on the far right of the list to enter the page of "Create An Alarm Policy".

3.Fill in the form, and click < preservation > button to create an alarm policy.

• Method 2:
1.Log in to Baidu AI Cloud, and select the cloud monitoring BCM. In the left navigation bar, click < Alarm Management > Alarm strategy to enter the page of "Alarm Policy List".

2.Click < Add Policy > button to enter the page of "Create An Alarm Policy".

3.Fill in the form, and click < preservation > button to create an alarm policy.
And you can select the instance group for which an alarm policy is created in the monitoring object.

Note: The alarm policy becomes valid on all instances in the instance group. And alarm notification is sent when any instance satisfies the alarm rules.

View Alarm Policy of Instance Group

The alarm policy may be viewed by two methods:
Method 1:
1.Enter the page of instance group, and click the name of any instance group to enter the details page of the instance group.

2.In the details page of the instance group, click < Alarm Policy > tab page to enter the page of alarm policy list of the instance group.

3.Click the name of one alarm policy to view the details of the alarm policy.

• Method 2:
1.In the left navigation bar, click < Alarm Management > -> < Alarm strategy > to enter the page of "Alarm Policy List".
2.When there are more alarm policies, input the name of alarm policy to realize quick screening.
3.Click the name of one alarm policy to view the details of the alarm policy.

Modify/Delete Alarm Policy

The alarm policy may be modified/deleted by two methods:

Method 1:

1.Enter the page of instance group, and click the name of any instance group to enter the details page of the instance group.

2.Click < Edit >/< Delete > button in the "Operation" column to modify/delete the alarm policy.

• Method 2:

1.In the left navigation bar, click < Alarm Management> to enter the page of "Alarm Ppolicy List".
2.In the screening conditions, select the region and cloud product type to view the corresponding alarm policy. When there are more alarm policies, input the name of alarm policy to realize quick screening.
3.Click < Modify >/< Delete > button in the "Operation" column to modify/delete the alarm policy.

View Alarm Event

1.In the left navigation bar, click < Alarm Management> -> < Alarm History > to enter the page of "Alarm History".

2. Select the <cloud product monitoring > tab to enter the alarm event list page of cloud product monitoring.
3. View the alarm events of cloud products as a whole.
