What is the Express Tunnel (ET)?

Express Tunnel (ET) is a high-performance, highly secure, and physically segregated network transmission service that provides fast and reliable connectivity to Baidu AI Cloud.

Using the Express Tunnel (ET) service, you can extend local data centers to Baidu AI Cloud, establishing a high-speed, stable, and secure network connection between your IDC and Baidu AI Cloud.

What bandwidth does the Express Tunnel service support?

The Baidu AI Cloud Express Tunnel service supports bandwidth options ranging from 2 Mbps to 100 Gbps.

How to apply for Baidu AI Cloud Express Tunnel service and what are the pricing details?

Express Tunnel applications require enterprise certification. Pricing details are available via ticket responses or by consulting account managers.

What are the main differences between Baidu AI Cloud's Express Tunnel services and traditional public network connections?

Compared to public network connections, Express Tunnels primarily offer differentiated advantages in high performance and high security. The direct connection speed of the Express Tunnel can reach up to 100 Gbps, avoiding packet loss and jitter issues common with traditional public networks. The Express Tunnel provides an exclusive physical channel, ensuring the link is not shared with other users and business data remains secure.

What is the difference between Express Tunnel (ET) and Virtual Private Network (VPN)?

Features Express Tunnel product VPN services
Network quality Exceptionally high network quality Depend on the BGP line quality of the ISP
Flexibility Long construction and activation period Short provisioning period
Cost Secure and stable communication quality, coupled with intricate line setups and high construction costs. Transmitting data through public networks is a cost-effective option.
Security Dedicated physical lines provide complete physical isolation, delivering "financial-grade" security and separation. Using existing public networks, establish encrypted tunnels via IPSec protocol,
thereby achieving isolation and security through software.
Customer scenarios Ideal for large-scale enterprises, such as financial institutions and government organizations. Suitable for small to medium-sized enterprises, including those in the Internet and gaming industries.

Which data centers can provide Baidu AI Cloud Express Tunnel services?

All seven Baidu AI Cloud regions currently support Express Tunnel activation. For details, please submit a ticket or consult your account manager.

What should I do when the Express Tunnel expires?

For customer lines built locally, promptly contact the line operator to pay line leasing fees. Baidu AI Cloud billing items: Port resource occupancy fees can be purchased on either a monthly or annual basis.

  • To continue using the service, please renew before your Express Tunnel expires to avoid network service interruptions. If a deactivated Express Tunnel is not renewed or recharged within one month, it will enter the destruction process, and both the line and its associated dedicated channels will be deleted.
  • Unused Express Tunnels will enter the destruction process after expiration, with both the line and its associated dedicated channels being deleted.
