Select access point

The access point refers to the geographic location where the physical dedicated line connects to Baidu AI Cloud services provided by Baidu AI Cloud, which support connections from various types of ISP physical dedicated lines. Before applying for a physical dedicated line, users are required confirm the access point. For more information, please refer to Express Tunnel Access Point.

Users can consider the following three factors to determine the most appropriate access point.

  1. Confirm the region where the access point is located

When choosing an access point, follow the proximity principle by selecting the one nearest to your local IDC. The closer the local IDC is to the access point, the lower the network latency. For instance, if your local IDC is in Beijing, you can select the North China-Beijing Region access point.

  1. Confirm the ISP

Various access points may support different ISPs for incoming connections. After deciding on the access point location, consult with a Baidu AI Cloud account manager to determine which ISPs are available in that region. Choose the appropriate ISP after evaluating factors like cost and network performance.

  1. Confirm port type

Select the optical port type users require. Supported physical port specifications vary by access point. Please consult a Baidu AI Cloud account manager for details. Port specifications determine the port speed, with default support for five optional specifications: 1 Gbps, 10 Gbps, 40 Gbps, 100 Gbps, and 400 Gbps.

  • Baidu AI Cloud provides five specifications of single-mode optical modules (1Gbps, 10 Gbps, 40 Gbps, 100 Gbps, 400 Gbps) with a transmission distance of 10 kilometers at no cost.
  • For optical port modules with 1Gbps, 10 Gbps, 40 Gbps, 100 Gbps, or 400 Gbps specifications but transmission distances exceeding 10 kilometers, users need to purchase them separately.

Pre-connection Preparations

Before using the dedicated connection, ensure the following preparations are completed.

  • The current account has undergone real-name certification, and the combined total of the account balance and coupons available for purchasing dedicated line connections is at least RMB 100.
  • The virtual private cloud and its Subnets for communication have been created. For specific operations, refer to Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) Operation Guide. The virtual private cloud used in this guide is VPC-123 (network segment: 192.168.1.0/24)
  • The cloud intelligent network has been created (optional), and the target virtual private cloud for communication has been added. For specific operations, refer to Create CSN Instance. The cloud smart network used in this guide is CSN-123, with the network instance VPC-123 already added.

Configure dedicated connection To quickly establish a dedicated connection between a single cloud-based private network cloud and an on-premises data center network, follow the steps as follows:

  1. Apply for physical dedicated line.
  2. Add dedicated channel
  3. Create dedicated gateway
  4. Add network instance.
  5. Configure user-side routing and test connectivity.
