Registration management is mainly for batch registration of edge core devices. When the same installer package is installed for edge devices in batches, the devices are registered and activated based on the device fingerprints (also called registration ID) pre-registered in the cloud.

• Registration by device fingerprint:

  • Fingerprint is generated in the cloud, automatically registered and programmed to the device before the device leaves the factory.
  • The fingerprint is provided by the device manufacturer, uniformly collected by the device manufacturer and registered to the cloud.

• Process to activate a device:

  • Cloud: When creating a device model/batch number, specify the application template corresponding to this type of device. When activating a device, you can create a core device automatically based on the application template.
  • Edge device: Activate the device through the activation module in the installer package. If the activation authentication is passed, start the agent to establish a connection with the cloud.
