Baidu IntelliEdge: The Baidu edge computing product, which includes the Baidu IntelliEdge edge local run package and Baidu IntelliEdge edge cloud management suite.

Edge Node: Any node outside the cloud computing center. According to different scenario needs and delay tolerance, the edge node may be the local device, LAN node (gateway, IPC, and server), and WAN node (base station, 5G-MEC, and CDN).

Associated device: The device connecting with the edge node, which carries out the data communication with the edge node through various protocols.

Local run package: It refers to the Baidu IntelliEdge local run package, including edge computing framework and edge application.

Application: An application is a set of services. An application can contain one or more services.

Service: A service is a set of programs, including program and configuration information on the running program. In general, the services need to perform a specific function on the edge node, such as message routing service, function computing service, stream computing service, AI inference service, data collection service, and data upload service.

Module: Provide the run program package for the Service. If it is the kube mode, the module is the Container Image. If it is the process mode, the module is the Binary Run Program Package.

Configuration item: It refers to the directory used by the Service, which may be the Read-only Directory (such as directory for storing configuration file, certificate, or function script) or the Read/write Directory, such as directory for storing log and persistent data.
