What is EasyEdge?

EasyEdge is an end computing model generation platform developed by Baidu based on Paddle Mobile. It can quickly generate an end-side model adaptive to edge nodes and intelligent terminals from the original in-depth learning model.

Models supported by the EasyEdge platform are shown in the following table:

• Upload a model support framework: Caffe (ssd)、PyTorch (0.4.0) 、TensorFlow (1.13)、PaddlePaddle (1.4.1) .
• Upload a model support network: 13 types including VGG16, InceptionV3/V4, MobilenetV1, MobilenetV1-SSD and RestnetV1.
• AI chip acceleration supports: General ARM chip, general x86 chip, NVIDIA GPU, Qualcomm Snapdragon GPU/DSP, Intel Movidius VPU, Huawei HiSilicon NPU and Apple A-Bionic.

Why does BIE integrate with EasyEdge?

The integration of BIE and EasyEdge is an important step for Baidu SkyEngineering IoT Hub platform to implement the “ABC Anywhere” strategy.

EasyEdge provides BIE with the capability of edge model adaptation and model acceleration and more sources of models that can be operated on the edge. The integration of BIE and EasyEdge provides users with a full-link service from “model upload - model adaptation - model distribution - model operation”.

In the future, BIE plans to integrate with Baidu AI services such as Paddlepaddle and EasyDL to provide users with “model training - model generation” services.
