The main content of this article is about introduction of the application template and use of predefined macros of storage volumes based on the application template.

Role of the Application Template

The application template can simplify user’s configuration operations, achieve the effect of using one template for multiple cores and greatly reduce the difficulty of user in configuration.

Create an Application Template

Click to enter the application template page, and you can see the list of existing application templates in the system.

You can create an application template in two methods. One is directly creating a template on the list page, and the other is converting the core configuration into an application template.

Directly Create an Application Template

Enter name and description to create it.

Convert the Core Configuration into an Application Template

On the core configuration page, select “Generate a template” in the configuration list.

Enter name and description of the template, click OK, and an application template will be created.

Note: The application template generated through the core will not include the agent module, and the configuration of the agent module in each core is unique.

The following figure is the application template exported through the core.

It contains all configurations except for the agent module.

Edit an Application Template

Note The agent module does not have to be created in the application template.

The operations of the application template are the same as those of the core configuration. For specific operations, see Release and Distribute a Configuration. The difference is that the application template does not need to be released.

Use an Application Template

Select a template when a core is created

When a core is created, you can select to use a template so that the module configuration of the template can be loaded to the core.

As shown in the figure, select a template, and in the core configuration, you can see that module in the template is loaded to the configuration by default.

Select a template when a registration model is created

When a registration model is created, you can select whether to use an application template, as shown in the figure below:

If you select to use an application template, the registration records in this model will use the application template to create a core after being activated successfully.
