Managing Roles

This section outlines how to manage roles in your Baidu AI Cloud account, including editing, modifying, and deleting roles.

Prerequisites

To manage roles, you must have system administrator permissions for the current cloud account

Edit role

During the use of a role, you may need to modify existing role information. Please follow the steps below

1. Sign in to the Baidu AI Cloud Console, hover over the profile icon in the upper-right corner, and select Identity and Access Management;
2. Select Role Management in the left navigation bar, locate the role to be edited in the list, and click Edit button;
3. You can update the basic details, role carrier, and associated policies as needed.

Delete role

To ensure the security of your cloud resources, please clean up unused roles promptly. Follow the steps below to delete a role:

1. Sign in to the Baidu AI Cloud Console, hover over the profile icon in the upper-right corner, and select Identity and Access Management;
2. Select Role Managementin the left navigation bar, locate the role to be edited in the list, and click Delete;
3. After reading the prompt in the pop-up window, click OK to complete the role deletion.

Note To prevent accidental deletion of active roles, the system restricts direct deletion of roles with associated permission policies. You must navigate to the Role Details page and clear all associated policies before deletion can proceed. On the other hand, to avoid affecting your online services, before deleting a role, please check its recent status before proceeding with deletion to ensure no online users or services are using it.
