Creating IAM User Administrators

Updated at:2025-10-27

Users can efficiently create IAM administrator accounts to replace the primary account in managing and operating cloud resources. IAM system administrators hold management permissions for all cloud resources.

Why is it necessary to create IAM user administrators

The root account of Baidu AI Cloud possesses full operational permissions over all resources within the cloud account. If compromised, it can lead to severe risks for cloud resource management and business operations. Therefore, we strongly advise using IAM administrator accounts to manage cloud resources and accounts. The system administrator policy provides the same permissions as the root account, meeting daily operational needs while enhancing cloud account security. Assign unique IAM users to each administrator to avoid sharing the primary account and enhance operational traceability.

2-step quick creation of IAM user administrator

  1. Sign in to Baidu AI Cloud management console, move the cursor over the avatar at the upper-right corner, and select Identity and Access Management from the dropdown list. Select User Management > IAM User > Create IAM User. image.png
  2. In the pop-up window, enter the username, check System Administrator, select Console Password Access as the access method, fill in the password according to the rules, check System Administrator under quick authorization, and click OK to complete the creation of the IAM user administrator

Tip: Users can check Require Users to Reset Password during Next Login in this step to prevent password sharing issues caused by password distribution.

Sign in to the cloud platform based on administrator IAM user

  1. On the Identity and Access Management > User Management > IAM User page, locate the IAM User Login Link above the user list and click to copy.
