Overview
Function overview
The BLS dashboard offers log data visualization capabilities, allowing users to perform flexible SQL-based statistics on system and business metrics derived from logs. It presents the data in chart formats and supports saving analysis results for long-term monitoring directly on the dashboard.
Chart Type
Currently supported types include tables, line charts, data panels, and pie charts. Stacked area charts, bar charts, stacked bar charts, and dashboard charts will be supported in Phase 2
- Table
Tables are a commonly used data display format, allowing for structured data organization to facilitate comparisons and statistical analysis. They are suitable for most scenarios.
- Line chart
Line charts are useful for visualizing statistical data with time-series fields, organizing and aggregating metrics over time. They clearly illustrate trends in metrics across a given period, making them ideal for trend analysis scenarios, such as tracking error counts over time. Line charts can also display data for multiple metrics across multiple dimensions.
- Data panel
Data panels are best suited for showcasing key metrics with business significance, combined with thresholds for easy interpretation. They are designed for analyzing numeric metrics over specific timeframes, such as daily, weekly, or monthly PVs (Page Views) or UVs (Unique Visitors). Data panels support displaying multiple metrics across multiple dimensions.
- Pie chart
Pie charts provide a visual representation of category proportions, where the size of each sector reflects the relative proportion of each category. They are ideal for proportion analysis scenarios, such as examining the distribution of error codes. Pie charts can display data for a single metric across multiple dimensions.
