          Simple Cache Service SCS

          FAQs About Security

May someone access my data on the cloud database SCS maliciously?

          No.

Users should access the SCS via a whitelist, and only the private network cloud server BCC can be added to the whitelist to prevent any public network attacks and malicious accesses.

The single-user data is isolated strictly within the cloud database SCS service. Each user can only access his/her own cached data.

What should I do if the cloud database SCS crashes, and can it affect the normal operation?

          No.

The cloud database SCS service has master and standby nodes for each user to provide service.

When one node fails, the cloud database SCS control module immediately call the other new node to ensure that the cloud database DBS service is not interrupted.

If two nodes fail at the same time, the cloud database SCS control module rebuilts them quickly within 5 seconds.

Why does the cloud database SCS not provide the direct login and access via SSH?

          • The cloud database SCS service does not provide the service domain names and should be accessed and viewed via a whitelist. The real nodes corresponding to the service can not be provided, separately.
          • For security reason, we do not want to reveal our internal IPs to others, avoiding security problems.
          • Based on the considerations on the service stability, Baidu AI Cloud should provide unified OPS management for all cloud databases SCS, and all services or configurations can not be modified by any user, so that this provides the better stability for the system.

How to carry out a comprehensive and regular check on the status of the cloud database SCS resources?

You can enable "Cloud Advisor" service to obtain regular reports on the security, availability, performance, and cost of resources on the cloud. The report contains several SCS-related inspection items, such as SCS-instance disabling, SCS-whitelist access risk, SCS-idle instance, SCS-high usage rate, and etc. To learn about or enable a cloud advisor service, please go to Cloud Advisor Homepage.
