The cloud database SCS is billed on an on-demand basis and in postpaid mode. The real-time fee calculation and payment are done based in terms of the instance specifications and duration (minutes), and is more flexible than the yearly and monthly billing.

Billing Rules

• Redis engine billing items: Cache nodes and proxy nodes.
• Memcached engine billing item: Cache capacity.
• Before the purchase of instance, make sure no arrears reside in the account and the sum of balance and coupon available is greater than or equal to 100 yuan.
• It is billed by minute, and less than 1 minute is counted as 1 minute.
• Payment is made on an hourly basis, i.e., the payment is made and the bill is generated on an hourly basis and in terms of Beijing time. The bill generation time is within 1 hour after the end of the current billing cycle. For example, the bill during 10:00-11:00 is generated before 12:00. The specific time depends on the system billing time.
• The bill is paid in post-paid mode, in which the bill, after being generated, is paid automatically by deducting the account balance or available voucher.
• The instances that are billed on an on-demand basis can be released at any time and is no longer be billed after release.

• Purchase the standard cache node cache.n1.medium (4GB), double replica, whose daily fee is (0.005903 * 2) * 60 * 24 = 17.00064 RMB.
• Purchase the cluster cache node “cache.n1.xlarge” (16GB), double replica, including 8 multiparts and 8 proxy nodes, whose monthly fee is 0.022569 * 2 * 8 + +0.003472 * 8 = 559.9872 RMB.

Insufficient Balance Reminders and Arrears

• Reminder of Insufficient Balance:

  • Judge whether your account balance, including available vouchers, is sufficient to pay for the next 3 days accordance to your bill amount in the last 3 days; if insufficient, the system sends a renewal reminder.
  • Judge whether your account balance, including available vouchers, is sufficient to pay for the next day according to your bill amount for the last day; if insufficient, the system sends a renewal reminder.

• Handling with the arrears:

  • Hourly check whether your account balance is sufficient to pay the cloud database SCS service bill in terms of the Beijing time. For example, check at 11:00 whether your account balance is sufficient to pay the bill from 10:00 to 11:00. If not sufficient, the system confirms the arrears and sends a renewal reminder.
  • The service stops immediately after it is in arrears and the system sends a service stop notice. The instance will be reserved for you for 7 days without charge. If you do not recharge within 7 days, it will be released. The system will send a release notification 1 day in advance and at the time of release.
