          Available Zone

Availability zone refers to one or more data centers in the same region where infrastructure such as electricity and network are isolated from each other. A region contains one or more Availability Zones. When one Availability Zone fails, it will not affect the use of other Availability Zones, thus protecting your application or database from a single location failure.

In addition, Availability Zones provide greater availability, fault tolerance and scalability than a single data center. Please pay attention to the following details, which may be related to the availability zone you selected:

          • Cloud services between different Availability Zones in the same region can be accessed through the intranet.
          • he number of Availability Zones may be different in different regions.
          • Availability zone is an identifier defined at the user level. Different users choose the same availability zone under the same region, which may correspond to different physical data centers.

          FAQs

          1. Why shall we divide Availability Zones?

Availability zone refers to the region where electricity and network are independent of each other under the same region, and faults will be isolated in one availability zone. If your application requires higher availability, we recommend that you create cloud services in different Availability Zones.

          2. How do I choose an Availability Zone?

Log in to the Baidu AI Cloud console, select your region, and choose different availability zones when purchasing cloud services. Different regions may have different numbers of Availability Zones.

          3. Can the CDS in Availability Zone A be attached to a BCC instance in another Availability Zone B in the same region?

No, a cloud disk CDS can only be mounted on one BCC instance in the same Availability Zone, and cannot be mounted across Availability Zones.
