Start-Stop Metadata Synchronization Task

Overview

After creating a metadata sync rule, users can start or cancel a metadata sync task.

  • Single time sync: Execute task to initiate a metadata sync task once, and terminate task to cancel this metadata sync task.
  • Cycle sync: Start rule to initiate periodic metadata sync (executing metadata sync periodically), and disable rule to cancel periodic metadata sync.

Single time sync rule - execute task

Notes

  • The single time sync rule status of metadata must be normal
  • Metadata sync rule Recent task status must not be starting, executing, or terminating

Operation step

  1. On the Data Sync page in the left navigation bar of the RapidFS console, click Metadata Sync to enter the Metadata Sync Rules List page.
  2. Select the specified metadata single time sync rule and click Execute Task to trigger the metadata sync task

  1. Upon completion of the execution task, the Data Sync page displays the execution status of the metadata single time sync task.

    • During task execution, the latest task status of the rule is executing.
    • Task is completed, and the rule's latest task status is shown as successful.

Single time sync rule - terminate task

Notes

  • The single time sync rule status of metadata must be normal
  • Metadata sync rule Recent task status must be executing

Operation step

  1. On the Data Sync page in the left navigation bar of the RapidFS console, click Metadata Sync to enter the Metadata Sync Rules List page.
  2. Select the specified metadata single time sync rule and click Terminate Task to terminate the metadata sync task being executed.

  1. After task termination, the Data Sync page displays the execution status of the metadata single time sync task.

    • Upon task termination, the latest task status of the rule will be shown as "being terminated"
    • Upon task completion, the latest task status of the rule will be shown as "terminated"

Cycle sync rule - enable rule

Notes

  • Metadata sync rule status is disabled

Operation step

  1. On the Data Sync page in the left navigation bar of the RapidFS console, click Metadata Sync to enter the Metadata Sync Rules List page.
  2. Select the specified metadata cycle sync rule and click Start Rule to trigger the metadata cycle sync task.

  1. After rule is enabled, the Data Sync page displays the cycle sync rule status

    • During rule start, rule status is starting
    • Rule start is completed. Rule status is Enabled, and the latest task status shows the execution status of the metadata sync task.

Cycle sync rule - disable rule

Notes

  • Metadata sync rule status is enabled

Operation step

  1. On the Data Sync page in the left navigation bar of the RapidFS console, click Metadata Sync to enter the Metadata Sync Rules List page.
  2. Select the specified periodic metadata sync rule and click Disable Rule to stop the periodic metadata sync task. Any ongoing task will be terminated.

  1. After rule is disabled, the Data Sync page displays the cycle sync rule status

    • For prohibited rules, the rule status is disabled
    • The rule prohibition is completed, the rule status is disabled, and the recent task status displays the execution status of the metadata sync task.
