Create Cache Instance

Updated at:2025-11-12

After enabling the data lake accelerator RapidFS, users must first create a RapidFS cache instance.

Basic information

Users need to first select the intended region, availability zone, and network.

Configuration item Configuration content
Region and availability zone I.e., the region where the cache instance is located
Availability zone Baidu AI Cloud automatically assigns an availability zone by default based on current resources. Users can choose the availability zone for the RapidFS cache instance as needed. Each region includes multiple availability zones. All availability zones in the selected region with RapidFS service deployment will be listed. For the best performance, it is recommended to deploy RapidFS cache instances and compute resources (e.g., Baidu Cloud Compute) within the same availability zone. Currently, each RapidFS cache instance supports only one availability zone.
VPC selection Users should select the VPC network to associate with the RapidFS cache instance based on their needs, and it must align with the VPC network of the Baidu Cloud Compute instance. Baidu AI Cloud provides a default VPC in each region, and users can create new VPCs as necessary.
Subnet selection Users should select the Subnet under the VPC to associate with the RapidFS cache instance based on their requirements.
Instance name Support uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, Chinese characters, and special characters (-\_ /), starting with a Chinese character or letter, with a total length between 1 and 65 characters.
  1. Click to choose the region where the cache instance will be created.
  2. Click to choose the availability zone where the cache instance will be created.
  3. Select the VPC and subnet
  4. Fill in instance name

Cache configuration

Users must select the configuration for the cache instance.

Configuration item Configuration content
Throughput capacity You can choose 100 MB/s/TiB or 200 MB/s/TiB. Please refer to Product Specifications.
Cache capacity Upon selection the throughput capacity of cache instance, specify the capacity to purchase a higher-capacity instance. For the initial capacity and expansion step size of cache instances, refer to Product Specifications.
  1. Please select the throughput capacity.
  2. Choose or enter the desired cache capacity.

Other settings

Users can define the keys and values of instance tags when creating a cache instance.

Confirm order

Carefully review your cache instance configurations. Once confirmed, proceed with payment. The cache instance will be created within 3-5 minutes.
